Kempsey Adventist School (KAS) is committed to providing a high- quality, 21st century relevant learning program, which also repre- sents the best possible value for each member of our school com- munity. At the same time, your school also recognises the signifi- cance that you place upon the distinctive school culture that helps to define KAS as the great school that it is. As part of a review of our current enrolment practices, it has been recommended that KAS implement a mid-year enrolment process that encourages current families to enroll other children who do not attend KAS or recommend KAS to like-minded relatives and/or friends who they feel may also appreciate the distinctive culture and learning program at KAS. With these aims in mind, and as is common across the independent schooling sector, KAS is introducing a new mid-year enrolment proc- ess to be known as the KAS Bring a Friend program. Dependent upon the success of the Bring a Friend program in 2016, the program may also be offered in subsequent years. Outlined below is a brief description of the potential conditions and benefits of the KAS Bring a Friend program to both existing KAS families and to any new families that may join the school as part of the Bring a Friend program. In 2016, the KAS Bring a Friend program will operate as follows: Effective from 1 June 1 August 2016 (inclusive): For current KAS FAMILIES with enrolled student/s at KAS: Bring a Friend - Assist in the direct enrolment of a new student/s to KAS prior to 1 August 2016) and receive: A $1000 fee reduction on your existing 2016 fee account per family that you successfully introduce to KAS for commencement by 1 August 2016. For NEW FAMILIES enrolling a new student/s at KAS through the Bring a Friend program: Enroll a new student/s into an existing vacancy at KAS prior to 1 August 2016 and receive: A 30% fee reduction on the Semester 2 2016 school fees. A further 30% fee reduction will also be applicable for any students whose enrolment continues into the 2017 school year. GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

PRIMARY SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

SECONDARY SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

CRESCENT HEAD ROAD WIDENING PROJECT As you know, work recently commenced to complete the road works around the entry of the school which, when completed, will enable a smoother flow of traffic both in and out of the school. As the disruption to the morning drop off and afternoon pick up is now expected to be greater than anticipated, the project has been postponed until the start of the Term 2 school holidays. This will allow much of the work to be done out of school time, however, we still estimate that there will be some disruption during Term 3 as we complete the works. We thank you in advance for your pa-tience whilst we make these major improvements to our school.

YR 11 STUDENTS GOING TO FIJI Students are regularly meeting at least one lunch time per week with staff in preparation for their trip to Fiji. All outstanding money is to be paid as per the timeline by 6 June.

YR 12 STUDENTS Recently our Year 12 students have been introduced to the website hsccoach.com.au which has useful tips on their courses as well as specific tips for sitting their HSC exams. Please take the time to encourage your child to view those clips that are relevant to them.
