ABOUT WHERE YOU LEARN: HYPER ISLAND

OUR STORYThe year was 1994, and multimedia (yes that was the buzzword then) pioneers Lars Lundh, Jonathan Briggs, and David Erixon convened in a bar in Stockholm to discuss an upcoming CD-ROM project. Together they discovered a couple of insights. They agreed the age of digital was surely upon us.

How can individuals and companies stay ahead of the curve when the traditional way of learning felt dated and mismatched with the pace and needs of the real world? That’s when they saw the opportunity to build a new institution of professional learning designed based on flexibility in anticipating and dealing with change. They envisioned a place for lifelong learning that would value personal and professional development as equally important.

20 years later our vision remains true as before - to design immersive learning experiences for students and industry professionals, with the aim of developing our participants into lifelong learners. Today Hyper Island has a global presence and is renowned in the industry as one of the top digital institutions, with a lively community of an eclectic mix of talents and experienced professionals coming from all corners of the earth.

HYPER ISLAND TODAYHyper Island designs learning experiences that challenge companies and individuals to grow and stay competitive in an increasingly digitized world. Our range of immersive programmes and courses seeks to equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to lead the change and begin a journey of lifelong learning. Our schools are located in Stockholm, Karlskrona, Manchester, London and Singapore, and we also have offices in New York and São Paulo. Our student body is diverse and global, as is our extensive alumni network.

KARLSKRONA CAMPUSStill located on the island where it all started, Hyper Island in Karlskrona has now broken out of the prison, and moved in to larger more practical facilities just outside the prison walls. With Sweden’s richest historical heritage right outside the door and a 360 degree ocean view, Hyper Island Karlskrona is the perfect place for creativity. Our students in Karlskrona develop their talent in an environment full of inspirational beauty.
