Objectives: I wanted to create a fun,modern montage, and di erent approachto an inspirational poster. AudreyHepburn as a fun and inspiring role modelfor women.
Process: I found 3 images onlinethat could blend well but had subtle
di erences. I then placed the busiestimage for the background. After cuttingAudreys face from the original image,I placed and sized it on the 8.5x11document. Finally I placed the geometricimage over her face and using the brushtool covered the image in white whereI didnt want the geometric pattern totouch.

BrochureDescription : Create a two-sided (duplex)color brochure

Objectives: I wanted to design abrochure that t the business model. Fun,whimsical, but sophisticated. I obtainedthat by creating a simple and elegantbrochure.
Process: Using the images from theowner I placed them accordingly tokeep the brochure readable while still
using 10+ photos. I accomplished well-used origination by applying InDesignsgreat grid system and also paragraphstyles. The brochure has an o -centeredfold to create an interesting and uniqueexperience for the user. Even thoughI used 266 words- I was able to giveenough information, but not too muchso that the customer would turn to thewebsite/ contact information for pricingand booking.

Objectives: Keeping the audience /company in mind. I designed 3 logos fora clients tile company. He wanted coolcolors with a modern approach.
Process: After sketching about 30 logos,the next step was to design simple andunique logos in Illustrator. I came up with3 di erent color schemes. I accomplishedthe varying logos from brainstorming andresearching before hand and also tryingnew approaches to my design esthetic.Keeping the design principles and clientin mind brought me to a successful andhappy company.

Program(s)/ Tools : Programs used- tocreate logo I used Adobe Illustrator.
Tools used pen tool, shape tool. For theHTML and CSS web page we used TextWrangler and W3 school validator tovalidate the web page.
Objectives: Re size and save image forweb using a PNG le. Write content, writeHTML and style using CSS- identifyingHEX colors, validated HTML & CSS,and compressed les to send to futureemployer.
Process: After picking a logo for theweb page, I wrote content for the designprocess and design decisions. I thenproceeded to write HTML & CSS. I foundthe colors for the headings by using theeye-dropper tool in Photoshop from thecolors in my logo- which presented acohesive web page design.

Objectives: Learn basic photographyskills. Choose a color scheme, takea photo to match those colors, thenincorporate the colors into the layout.Use a digital camera to take a qualityimage. Size and crop image- Use layersto design text, and repeating graphicelements in Photoshop.
Process: After nding a color schemeand thinking of a theme for the photo
design. I gathered some fresh produceand shot in natural light. I then uploadedthe photo into Photoshop made a fewedits (boosted up saturation, clarity, etc.)then I cropped image and with separatelayers I added some design elements- ie.box and border with text.

Objectives: Design consistent layouts fora letterhead and business card. The needto consists of a logo, contact information,and a watermark.
Process: I picked someone that I reallyadmire and designed this letterhead afterher personality and passion for eatinghealthy. I used Illustrator to create thelogo and the letterhead. I wanted to userepeating background for the watermark.I used the same image I designed for thelogo to create consistency. I also wasconscious to create hierarchy in the logo,contact information.

Process: Once the letterhead wascomplete. I focused on consistency withthe business card. The size was a littlebit of a challenge, because there wasntas much white space as the letterhead,but I made up for that with making theback of the business card more fun andmore colorful. I found the using Illustratorwas a very good option for this project,but I would be comfortable in the otherprograms as well!

Event AdDescription : Scan in image and create acolor Event Ad in Microsoft Word
Date: January 28, 2014
Course Instructor:Caryn Esplin- Comm 130
Program(s)/ Tools: Scanner, MicrosoftWord
Objectives: Scan in an original imageand create a color Event Ad in MicrosoftWord using their tools only.
Process: Found and image and scannedimage at 300dpi to create a nice cleanimage. After scanning image, I pasted theimage in Word. I layed down a darkeropaque box over the image to make thetext on top more legible. The text colorstied in nicely with the original image.Found nice image placing and usedplenty of hierarchy. Using Microsofts toolswere a challenge for me, but I learned somuch during this project.
