It is so nice to meet you!

I primarily paint with acrylics and mixed mediabecause water is such an important ingredient in mypainting formula. Water is a powerful agent forchange when it is allowed to move the paint, dilutethe intensity, and mix new unique colors. I can workquickly, building layers, and using unique colorcombinations to make a strong visual statement withtexture, contrast and vibrant color. I play in thearea between the abstract and impressionisticstyles. My work is vibrant and energetic usingtexture, and strong brush strokes to engage andexcite. Karen also works with emerging artist to identifyincome streams that add value to their artbusiness. In 2019 Momentum Artists launched aplatform to teach best business practices thatempower visual artist to earn a living wage in theart industry. Art has the power to create positive socialchange. We are born with the ability to build, communicate and impact our world. I interpret myworld with my paintbrush. I can create a visualnarrative and translate my understanding of myenvironment and experiences. When I combine myartwork with the story that inspired the piece, Iam able to start a conversation about difficulttopics in a safe and respectful way.

Thanks for supporting the arts !

Floral Impressions and Abstracts

When I create florals, I strive to capture theessence rather than an exact reproduction.Flowers have the ability to brighten a spacewhile creating an atmosphere of excitement. Mygoal is to connect the viewer with a memory.

I like to play in the area between abstract andimpressionistic styles. This where I can bring onearea into focus while allowing all areas of thepainting to be soothing.

In the spring and summer, we can find flowers inour gardens, but with Karen Ahujuju a Studio florals, you can have beautiful flowers that never fade.

Contempory Art

Creating successful abstract works

rely heavily on composition and

color palettes. An abstract with

color and movement will have

energy and excitement. Abstracts

with neutral color palettes can be

calming but add in large brush

strokes and you gain movement and

energy.

I enjoy creating abstract pieces

because it forces me to allow the

paint to move and develop it's own

personality on the canvas.
