GENERAL INFORMATIONThis catalog is published in compliance with K.S.A. 75-3317 through 75-3322, “The Kansas Use Law.” The Kansas Director of Purchases has found the items in this catalog to be consistent with “The Kansas Use Law” and has therefore designated them for mandatory purchase. The intent of “The Kansas Use Law” is to help provide employment for Kansans who are blind or severely disabled. Purchase of products and services from these exceptional Kansans helps them be a productive force contributing to the economy of our State.

A SUMMARY OF KANSAS LAW ABOUT PURCHASINGSummary of K.S.A. 75-3321The Director of Purchases and any person or offi cer authorized to purchase materials and supplies for any State agency or Unifi ed School District operating in Kansas, or to purchase services for any agency within Kansas State government, shall purchase, from the catalog, “Products and Services Manufactured and Offered By Blind and Severely Disabled Kansans,” at any time when the listings in that catalog will meet the needs of the agency or school district.

Summary of K.S.A. 75-3322Whenever the qualifi ed vendors represented in this catalog are unable to supply the products or services needed, or are unable to meet delivery requirements on any purchase order or requisition, a written waiver request shall immediately be forwarded to the Director of Purchases by the state agency procurement offi cer or purchasing offi cer of the Unifi ed School District. If approved by the Director of Purchases such waivers shall relieve and exempt the state or Unifi ed School District from the purchasing requirements set forth in the relevant Kansas laws (K.S.A. 75-3317 and 75-3322). The waiver granted shall apply only to the case of the specifi c purchase order, request or requisition.

The Kansas Elks Training Center for the Handicapped Inc., (KETCH) is a not-for-profit

organization that provides services to adults with disabilities.

What began as a grassroots effort in 1962 by a group of parents of adult children with

disabilities, is today a statewide, nationally recognized organization. Incorporated in 1964, KETCH

continues to provide services to people with a wide range of disabilities.

Today, KETCH provides work services, day services, targeted case management,

employment and community living services to more than 600 Kansans each year.

KETCH products are guaranteed. If there is a factory error,

fully supported with an expanded metal wire grid.

Filter Trays: The die cut filter trays for standard filters are pearl-coated beverage board. The filter trays used for custom filters

are hand-assembled from pearl-coated chip board and are supported with metal material.

Test Results: Pleated filters have an average dust weight arrestance of 92 percent on 1” thickness and 95 percent on 2” thick-

ness per ASHRAE standard 52.1-1997.Pleats: 1” and 2” pleated filters have 12 pleats per linear foot.

Standard Size Polyester and Fiberglass Air Filters

Filter Media: The filter media used in the manufacture of polyester filters is a synthetic fiber media that exhibits a

uniform density and resilient body. The material also has higher arrestance efficiency than standard fiberglass. The

media used in the manufacture of KETCH fiberglass is a new MERV 7 filter media composed of continuous filament

glass fibers bonded together with a thermosetting resin.

Filter Trays: The material used to manufacture the die cut filter trays for standard sizes is pearl-coated beverage

board. The filter trays for custom sizes are hand assembled from pearl-coated chip board and are supported with

metal material.

Test Results: Polyester filters have an average dust weight arrestance of 79 percent on 1” thickness and 89 percent

on 2” thickness per ASHRAE standard 52-76. Fiberglass filters have an average dust weight arrestance of 70 percent

on 1” thickness and 80 percent on 2” thickness per supplier performance data.
