your college.” I strongly believe in this statement. For, a magazine carries the contributions

reflecting ethos and aspirations of the students, faculty and other team members of an institution.

I am happy to know that CMR College of Pharmacy is bringing out its first college magazine this

year. I went through the articles and other content published in this magazine. They amply

demonstrate the communication skills, poetic prowess, imagination and creativity, humor and

humanism, technical competence, and patriotism of the contributors.

I wish this maiden attempt all success. Let there be more contributions in future.

glory but without materials like a college magazine, the outside world may not know of it. The

role of a college magazine is therefore vital in promoting what an institution offers. It brings out

into the open things hitherto unrevealed. It brings to light the names of the unsung heroes and

their mighty deeds. I am happy that there is a dedicated team of staff and students who have

brought out the first ever magazine of CMR College of Pharmacy. They have presented the

stupendous achievements of CMRCP in the fields of academics, research, sports and extra-

curricular activities, in a nice way. Rejuvenate represents the collective work of the team.

released by the combine efforts of the Staff and Students of the college. CMRCP established in

2005 but it took almost 10 years to bring out the first volume of Magazine. The efforts of the

editorial team must maintain the tempo and bring out quality articles in the core area of

Pharmaceuticals and allied areas as well as in the field of arts and culture. I personally believe

they will continue this effort every year to release magazine every year.

I wish them all success in this endeavor.

It gives us great pleasure to bring you the first issue of Rejuvenate 2014-15, the college

magazine of CMRCP. The name and fame of an institute depends on the caliber and

achievements of the students and teachers. The role of a teacher is to be a facilitator in nurturing

the skills and talents of students. This magazine is a platform to exhibit the literary skills and

innovative ideas of teachers and students. Rejuvenate presents the achievements of students and

contributions of teachers. We would like to place on record our gratitude and heartfelt thanks to

all those who have contributed to make this effort a success. We profusely thank the

management for giving support and encouragement and a free hand in this endeavor.

Last but not the least we are thankful to all the authors who have sent their articles. We truly

hope that the pages that follow will make an interesting read.

About the College:

CMR College of Pharmacy was established in the year 2005 with the objectives of providing

quality education in the field of Pharmacy to the students of rural and urban areas. The college

offers B. Pharm., Pharm. D., and M. Pharm in the specializations of Pharmaceutics,

Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Analysis. The college accorded the approval from the All

India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru

Technological University, Hyderabad. It has also received the approval from the Pharmacy

Council of India u/s 12 of the Pharmacy Act 1948. College has MOU with Gandhi Hospital for

clinical training of Pharm. D students. The Pharmacy education is designed to ensure that the

newly qualified pharmacist has the necessary knowledge and skills to commence practicing

competently in a variety of settings including community and hospital pharmacy and the

pharmaceutical industry. Continuing in the professional development must then be a lifelong

commitment for every practicing pharmacist. The education, which a pharmacy student receives,

will affect the knowledge gained, the skills learned and the attitudes taken. All of which have an

impact on how a pharmacy graduate will practice pharmacy in the future. CMR College of

Pharmacy is an Institute where the students are inspired and guided and they are trained with best

knowledge and all the possible skills. Offering co-education, the college is spread in a sprawling

campus of amidst picturesque environs on Hyderabad - Nagpur High Way at Kandlakoya(V),

Medchal, Hyderabad 501 401. Its savvy infrastructure, the state of-the-art laboratories and

eminent teaching faculty are the exclusive strengths of the institution. The college is functioning

from its campus in a total area of 2.5 acres and has spacious laboratories (13 No’s each of 1335

sq. ft.) and well ventilated and furnished classrooms. High quality equipment for laboratories is

also procured very ambitiously. The college maintains a very good library with a large collection

of books and subscribes a good number of standard journals (National and International). The

staff members of the college are well qualified and sufficiently experienced. The students in the

college are greatly monitored and motivated by the highly qualified and experienced faculty. The

students with the extraordinary skills are identified and encouraged to present their knowledge at

various seminars/conferences. They are also guided to publish their research work in the reputed

National and International journals.

Brain Waves

Sound vibrations can alter brainwaves and the state of your consciousness to help you manage

stress better. Several ancient techniques are incredibly powerful and we are yet to fully

understand how they really work. Sound is one such tool which inhabits a curious space. Various

cultures around the world including those from Hindu theology and Christian religion have used

sound to invoke and transform consciousness. Creation stories identify sound as the creative

force by which the Divine initially manifested light, followed by material reality. Whatever one

might believe in, to some extent, we do know the power of the spoken word, chanting, and of

melodies and the role of musical instruments.

Five Brainwaves:

The brain contributes to our state of mind. All humans display five types of dominant electrical

patterns across the cortex known as ‘brainwaves’. The human brain also has the ability to

transition through these different dominant brainwave frequencies and this might be the key in

determining how successful we could be in using sound to manage stress, cope with challenging

situations and achieve overall wellbeing.‘ Beta’ waves are the brainwaves of our normal waking

consciousness which are involved in logical thinking and critical reasoning. Though this

stimulating effect may be important for effective functioning through the day, too much of beta

can also translate into stress, anxiety and restlessness. Fast and stressful living often results in

many of us constantly operating under this beta. ‘Alpha’ waves are present in a relaxed state, for

example, while imagining or visualizing. It is the gateway to the subconscious mind. So,

conversely, when we are stressed, it can be assumed that our beta is actually blocking the alpha.

‘Theta’ waves represent the subconscious; we can see theta during meditation and in a deeply

relaxed semi-hypnotic state. More importantly, at this frequency, we are conscious of our

surroundings, yet, can retrieve information from the subconscious while our body is still in deep

relaxation. ‘Delta’ waves are experienced in deep sleep and are important for restorative

purposes. ‘Gamma’ waves are associated with higher level information processing and binding

of our senses. Even through the waking state, an EEG or electro-encephalogram will display all

five types of brainwaves at the same time but one particular brainwave will be dominant and this

depends upon the state of consciousness that the individual is in. Normal waking state is



dominated by beta and the meditative states are largely dominated by alpha and theta. However,

the real usefulness of sound for us is when we are able to tap into these alpha-theta brainwave

patterns at any given time and this is referred to as brainwave entrainment. This concept of shift

in brainwaves using sound frequencies as an agent is similar to meditation which is regulated by

breath. Although conventional medicine has employed frequencies in the ultrasonic range,

alternative practices have embraced frequencies in the audible range — the alpha-theta band of

waves. Not only is this wave band in sync with the frequency of earth’s resonation — Schumann

(7-8 Hz), it is also that band where self-healing mechanisms of the body are activated often

referred to as ‘being in the zone’. Jeffrey Thompson, founder of the Centre for Neuroacoustic

Research, noted that as frequencies slow down, we can feel it in our muscles, joints and bones.

Singing bowls are an ancient technology; the bowls create a pulsation of sound to entrain our

brain. Traditionally, these bowls are made of seven metals — gold, silver, quicksilver, copper,

iron, tin and lead. All these metals produce individual sounds and together they result in this

exceptional singing sound of the bowl. When these bowls are struck and the mallet is gently

glided along the edge of the bowl, they resonate and produce vibrations that are said to relate to

this alpha theta wave band thus influencing our nervous system, engaging our relaxation reflex

and alleviating the stress or pain response. Thus, it doesn’t come as a surprise that several pain

and stress management centers around the world have now started to use singing bowls in their

practices. Although pure science has not entirely evidenced how these bowls help alleviate pain

and stress-related conditions, multitude of human experiences right from ancient to modern times

have indicated that they can and they do help. Therefore, it is perhaps time to stop pondering

over how and why something helps and simply learn to accept that which works.



How to build character

If you really want to judge the character of

a man, look not at his great performances.

Every fool may become a hero at one time

or the other. Watch a man at his most

common actions; those are indeed the

things which will tell you the real character

of a great man.

It is the nature of things that many should fall, that troubles should come, that tremendous

difficulties should arise, that selfishness and all the other devils in the human heart should

struggle hard, when they are about to be driven out by the fire of spirituality. The road to the

good is the roughest and steepest in the universe. It is a wonder that so many succeed, no wonder

that so many fail. Character has to be established through a thousand stumbles.

We are to take care of ourselves as much we can and give up attending to others for a time. Let

us perfect the means, the end will take care of itself. FOR THE WORLD CAN BE GOOD AND

PURE, ONLY IIF OUR LIVES ARE GOOD AND PURE. Therefore, let us purify ourselves. Let

us make ourselves perfect. The miseries of the world cannot be cured by physical help only.

Men’s character changes then alone the will misery cease in the world. We may convert every

house in the country into a charity asylum, we may fill the land with hospitals, but the misery of

man will still continue to exist until man’s character changes. All the strength and succour we

want is within us. Therefore we have to make our own future.

If a man continuously hears bad words, thinks bad thoughts, does bad actions, his mind will be

full of bad impressions, and they will influence his thought and work without his being conscious

of the fact. He will be like a machine in the hands of his impressions, and these may force him to

do evil, he cannot help it. Similarly, if a man thinks good thoughts and does good works, he sum

total of these impressions will be good, and they in a similar manner, will force him to do good.

In such case, man’s good character is said to be established. Never mind failures, they are quite

natural, they are the beauty of life, actually what would life be without them? I never heard a

cow telling a lie, but it is only a cow never a man. So, never mind these failures these little

backsliders, hold the ideal a thousand times, and if you fail a thousand times, make an attempt

once more.

can achieve anything he wants in life. He, who lacks it, can never achieve anything big. So we all

need to have confidence to lead our life successfully. Now answer the following questions with

Recent Developments in Medical Field

Robotic Surgeries

In late 2007 the surgeons at the Cleveland Clinic began removing kidneys through a single

incision in the patient’s navel. Using tiny metal hands carefully manipulating sutures deep inside

a patient’s body seems like something pulled from science fiction, but that robotic surgery is

occurring daily in a growing number of centers across the country.

The greatest benefit of tiny openings into the body rather than large incisions made by traditional

surgery, may–believers say–be shorter and less painful recovery time. Doctors have also used

robotic surgery to improve the accuracy of procedures, especially in cancer cases. Robotic

surgery increased the ability of cancer surgeons to get clean margins as well due to the

magnification of the structures.

Robotic tools also offer the potential for surgeons to operate on patients remotely, which would

reduce the costs of travel and other barriers towards receiving specialized care. While critics say

the cost of the robotic hardware may outweigh the benefit, the potential for smoother, more

efficient and less invasive surgeries bodes well both for patient safety and overall medical costs.



3D Printed Biological Materials

There have been many widespread uses of 3D printers today from guns to models of the Empire

State building, but the medical uses are extremely practical and overtime could really solve

ongoing health issues once it’s figured out how to accurately apply them to people.

Here are seven applications of 3D printers in healthcare that could have an important impact in

the future:

Embryonic Stem Cells: These cells have already been successfully printed in a lab and

could be one-day use to create tissue that could help test drugs and assist in the growth of

new organs.

Printing Skin: There have been many advances in the areas of developing skin to help

burn victims and skin disease patients, 3D printers can help further jumpstart these

advances with the addition of laser-printed skin cells.

Blood Vessels & Heart Tissue: Organovo is a company that has already successfully

printed blood vessels and sheets of cardiac tissue that actually beat along just like a real

heart.

Replacing Cartilage & Bone: 3D printers have also helped scientists and doctors create

stem cells that could eventually develop into both bone and cartilage in the long-term.

Studying Cancer: Printing cancer cells is a way of growing these cells on tissue in a lab

to study, test drugs on and to eventually find a cure for.

Patching a Broken Heart: Printing cells with a 3D printer proves useful in a recent

study of rats that had previously suffered heart attacks and were given these patches of

cells to help slowly help improve their heart function overtime.

Replacement Organs: Printing new part for organs or entire organs all together will help

solve an ongoing medical need and help save hundreds of thousands of people every year

waiting for an organ donation to come thru.

New Drug approval

Afrezza (insulin human) Inhalation Powder

Company: Mannkind

Approval Status: Approved June 2014

Specific Treatments: Diabetes Mellitus

Therapeutic Areas: Endocrinology, Family Medicine, Diabetes Mellitus Types 1 and 2.

General Information:

Afrezza is a rapid acting inhaled insulin powder. When the insulin is inhaled through the device,

the powder is aerosolized and delivered to the lung.

Afrezza is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in adult patients with diabetes

mellitus.

Limitations of Use: Afrezza is not a substitute for long-acting insulin. Afrezza must be used in

combination with long-acting insulin in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus. Afrezza is not

recommended for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis.

Afrezza is supplied as a powder to be administered via oral inhalation. Afrezza should be

administered at each mealtime. For specific dose requirements and dose adjustments, refer to the

Afrezza drug label.

FDA Approval

The FDA approval of Afrezza was based on the following trial results:

Type 1 diabetes: A 24-week, open-label, active-controlled study enrolled 344 subjects

inadequately controlled type 1 diabetes to evaluate the glucose lowering effect of mealtime

Afrezza used in combination with a basal insulin. Following a 4-week basal insulin optimization

period, subjects were randomized to Afrezza (n=174) or insulin aspart (n=170)administered at

each meal of the day. Mealtime insulin doses were titrated to glycemic goals for the first 12

weeks and kept stable for the last 12 weeks of the study. At Week 24, treatment with basal

insulin and mealtime Afrezza provided a mean reduction in HbA1c that met the pre-specified

requirement for non-inferiority margin of 0.4%. Afrezza provided less HbA1c reduction than

insulin aspart, and the difference was statistically significant. More subjects in the insulin aspart

group achieved the HbA1c target of ≤7%.

Type 2 diabetes: A total of 479 adult patients with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled on

optimal/maximally tolerated doses of metformin only, or 2 or more oral antidiabetic (OAD)

agents participated in a 24-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. Following a 6-week

run-in period, 353 patients were randomized to Afrezza (n=177) or an inhaled placebo powder

without insulin (n=176). Insulin doses were titrated for the first 12 weeks and kept stable for the

last 12 weeks of the study. OADs doses were kept stable. At Week 24, treatment with Afrezza

plus OADs provided a mean reduction in HbA1c that was statistically significantly greater

compared to the HbA1c reduction observed in the placebo group.

Side Effects

Adverse effects associated with the use of Afrezza may include, but are not limited to, the

following:

Hypoglycemia

Cough

Throat pain

Irritation

Afrezza carries a risk of acute bronchospasm in patients with chronic lung disease

Mechanism of Action

Afrezza is a rapid acting inhaled insulin powder. When the insulin is inhaled through the device,

the powder is aerosolized and delivered to the lung. Insulin lowers blood glucose levels by

stimulating peripheral glucose uptake by skeletal muscle and fat, and by inhibiting hepatic

glucose production. Insulin inhibits lipolysis in adipocytes, inhibits proteolysis, and enhances

protein synthesis.

The Story Teller

Devoted Mother

A mother duck and her little ducklings were on their way to a lake one day. The ducklings were

very happy following their mother and quack-quacking along the way.

All of a sudden, the mother duck saw a fox at a distance. She was frightened, and shouted,

“Children, hurry to the lake. There’s a fox!”

The ducklings hurried towards the lake. The mother duck wondered what to do. Then she began

to walk back and forth dragging one wing on the ground.

When the fox saw her, he became happy. He said to himself, “It seems she’s hurt and can’t fly! I

can easily catch and eat her!” He ran towards her.

The mother duck ran, leading the fox away from the lake. The fox followed her. Now he

wouldn’t be able to harm her ducklings. The mother duck looked towards her ducklings and saw

that they had reached the lake. She was relieved, so she stopped and took a deep breath.

The fox thought that she was tired and he came closer, but the mother duck quickly spread her

wings and rose up in the air. She landed in the middle of the lake and her ducklings swam to her.

The fox stared in disbelief at the mother duck and her ducklings. The mother duck had tricked

him cleverly. Now he could not reach them because they were in the middle of the lake.



The Hidden Treasure:

There lived an old farmer with his three sons in a village.

The father asked his sons to work in the field along with him. But the young fellows were lazy.

They did not want to work in the sun and the rains in the field like their father.

One day the farmer fell sick. He was about to die. So he called his sons, and told them, "Sons,

before I die, I want to tell you some secret. Under the ground in our field, there are some hidden

treasures. If you dig the land properly, you will surely find them."

So saying, the old farmer died.

The boys performed the funeral rites of their father. Then, one day all the three brothers went to

the field and began to dig the land thoroughly from one end to the other in order to find the

hidden treasures. But they did not find anything. They were disheartened.

Now the eldest brother told the other two to sow seeds in the land, as the land had already been

ploughed thoroughly. And they did so.

After a few months, they found good crops in their field. They reaped the harvest, and made

large profit by selling them.

Now the eldest brother told his two brothers, "Brothers, I've understood what our father had

meant by the 'hidden treasures'. The hidden treasures are the good crops that we found, only by

Secret Fact

A handsome man went into a hotel and asked to see the manager. When the manager came, the

story began.

-The client: is room 39 empty?

-The manager: yes, sir.

-The client: can I book it?

-The manager: of course you can.

-The client: thank you.

Before going to the room, the client asked the manager to provide him with a black knife, a white

thread 39 cm and an orange 73g.

The manager agreed though he was surprized at the weird things the client asked to have.

The client went into his room, he didn't ask for food or anything else.

Unfortunately for the manager, his room was next to room 39.

After midnight, the manager heard strange voices and noise in that client's room. Voices of wild

animals and of utensils and dishes being thrown on the floor.

The manager didn't sleep that night. He kept thinking and wondering what might be the source of

the noise.

In the morning, when the client handed the keys to the manager, the latter asked to see the room

first.

He went to the room and found everything alright. Nothing unusual. He even found the thread,

the black knife and the orange on the table.

The client paid the bill and gave the bellboys a very good tip and left the hotel smiling.

The manager was in a shock but he didn't reveal what he heard to the bellboys. In fact, he started

to doubt himself.

After one year, the client showed up again on same date. He asked to see the manager again. The

manager was in a puzzle.

The client asked the same things: room 39, black knife, white thread 39cm and an orange 79g.

This time, the manager wanted to know the truth by all means possible. He spent a sleepless

night, waiting for something to happen. After midnight, the same voices and noises started, this

time louder and more indecipherable than the year before.

Again, before leaving, the client paid his bill and left a large tip on the table for the bellboys. The

smile didn't leave his face.



The manager started searching for the meaning of everything the client asked to have. Why did

he ask room 39? Why the white thread? Why the black knife??? In fact, the manager didn't arrive

to any convincing answer to all these questions.

The manager now was eagerly waiting for next year, the same month in which the client showed

up.

To his surprise, next year the same client showed up on same date. He asked the same questions.

Wanted to book the same room, wanted to have the same things as before.

The manager again heard the same noises, this time more louder than before.

In the morning, when the client was leaving the hotel, the manager apologized politely to the

client and asked to know the secret behind the noises in the room.

-''If I tell you the secret, do you promise to never reveal it to anyone else?''

-''I promise I will never let anyone know''.

-''Swear''

-''I swear I won't reveal your secret''

So finally, the client revealed his secret to the manager.

Unfortunately, the manager was a sincere person. Until now he hasn't revealed his secret to

anyone.

When he does, I will let you know...

Everyone Has a Story in Life

A 24 year old boy seeing out from the train’s window shouted…

“Dad, look the trees are going behind!”

Dad smiled and a young couple sitting nearby, looked at the 24 year old’s childish behavior with

pity, suddenly he again exclaimed…

“Dad, look the clouds are running with us!”

The couple couldn’t resist and said to the old man…

“Why don’t you take your son to a good doctor?” The old man smiled and said…“I did and we

are just coming from the hospital, my son was blind from birth, he just got his eyes today.”

Every single person on the planet has a story. Don’t judge people before you truly know them.

The truth might surprise you.

Potatoes, Eggs and Coffee Beans

Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father that her life was miserable and that she

didn’t know how she was going to make it. She was tired of fighting and struggling all the time.

It seemed just as one problem was solved, another one soon followed.

Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen. He filled three pots with water and placed each on a

high fire. Once the three pots began to boil, he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot,

and ground coffee beans in the third pot.

He then let them sit and boil, without saying a word to his daughter. The daughter, moaned and

impatiently waited, wondering what he was doing.

After twenty minutes he turned off the burners. He took the potatoes out of the pot and placed

them in a bowl. He pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl.



He then ladled the coffee out and placed it in a cup. Turning to her he asked. “Daughter, what do

you see?”

“Potatoes, eggs, and coffee,” she hastily replied.

“Look closer,” he said, “and touch the potatoes.” She did and noted that they were soft. He then

asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled

egg. Finally, he asked her to sip the coffee. Its rich aroma brought a smile to her face.

“Father, what does this mean?” she asked.

He then explained that the potatoes, the eggs and coffee beans had each faced the same

adversity– the boiling water.

However, each one reacted differently.

The potato went in strong, hard, and unrelenting, but in boiling water, it became soft and weak.

The egg was fragile, with the thin outer shell protecting its liquid interior until it was put in the

boiling water. Then the inside of the egg became hard.

However, the ground coffee beans were unique. After they were exposed to the boiling water,

they changed the water and created something new.

“Which are you,” he asked his daughter. “When adversity knocks on your door, how do you

respond? Are you a potato, an egg, or a coffee bean? “

Moral: In life, things happen around us, things happen to us, but the only thing that truly matters

is what happens within us.

A Pound of Butter

There was a farmer who sold a pound of butter to a baker. One day the baker decided to weigh

the butter to see if he was getting the right amount, which he wasn’t. Angry about this, he took

the farmer to court.

The judge asked the farmer if he was using any measure to weight the butter. The farmer replied,

“Honor, I am primitive. I don’t have a proper measure, but I do have a scale.”



The judge asked, “Then how do you weigh the butter?”

The farmer replied; “Your Honor, long before the baker started buying butter from me, I

have been buying a pound loaf of bread from him. Every day when the baker brings the

bread, I put it on the scale and give him the same weight in butter. If anyone is to be

blamed, it is the baker.”

Moral of the story: In life, you get what you give. Don’t try and cheat others.

Control Your Temper There once was a little boy who had a very bad temper. His father decided to hand him a bag of

nails and said that every time the boy lost his temper, he had to hammer a nail into the fence.

On the first day, the boy hammered 37 nails into that fence. The boy gradually began to control

his temper over the next few weeks, and number of nails he was hammering into the fence

slowly decreased. He discovered it was easier to control his temper than to hammer those nails

into the fence.

Finally, the day came when the boy didn’t lose his temper at all. He told his father the news and

the father suggested that the boy should now pull out a nail every day he kept his temper under

control.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence.

“You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be

the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a

knife in a man and draw it out. It won’t matter how many times you say I’m sorry, the

wound is still there.”

Moral of the story: Control your anger, and don’t say things to people in the heat of the

moment, that you may later regret. Some things in life, you are unable to take back.

and faculty on 24th Nov 2014. This program was conducted mainly for the students to improve

their personality as a student and to create them a good person for the society. Monk Swami

Bodhmayanand conducted the session with students and faculty and describe elaborately about

various aspects of life to improve personality



Blood donation camp on World Pharmacist Day 2014

CMR College of Pharmacy organized a blood donation camp on the occasion world Pharmacist

Day on 25th September 2014 in collaboration with Department of Transfusion Medicine, Gandhi

Hospital. A total of 98 candidate donated blood includes faculty and students. CMR College of

pharmacy regularly organize blood donation camp and donate them to government health

organizations so that those can be use by needy poor people free of cost

Two Days National level symposium – Pharmainnovate-2K13

CMR College of Pharmacy organized a two day national level symposium and technical fest

Pharmainnovate-2K13 on 26th & 27th December 2013. In this symposium a total of 300

participants from CMRCP and other colleges participate in various programs and presented oral

and poster presentation on recent developments of pharmaceutical science. This symposium was

a platform for pharmacy students and faculties to showcase their talent in various recent

developments



World Pharmacist Day celebration 2013

Faculty and students of CMR College of Pharmacy conducted an awareness rally on fever and medical

camp on the occasion of World Pharmacist Day with Kandlakoya Village Panchyat on 25th September

2013. CMR College of Pharmacy organize this medical camp as a part of social service in which proper

information about fever was furnished to the villagers and medicine was distributed free of cost

Hepatitis awareness rally and free vaccination camp

CMR College of Pharmacy in association with Medchal Village primary school conducted an awareness

rally on Hepatitis on 20th July 2013 and provided free vaccination to the school students, a total of 55

students were vaccinated through this program. As pediatric population are more prone to develop

hepatitis due to lack of personal hygiene so this awareness rally was conducted and as a part of social

service vaccination was done to the poor school student free of cost



Orientation Program

The Orientation Programme for the 1st year B. Pharm and 1st year Pharm. D. students were held

on 13th October 2014 at CMR College of Pharmacy, Block II. The Chief Guest of the day was

Dr. Krishna Kumar, Prof. of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, Howard University, USA.

The Programme was attended by the Secretary and Correspondent, Sri. Ch. Gopal Reddy,

Principal, CMR College of Pharmacy, Dr. V. Uma Maheswara Rao, Principals of sister

institutions, Faculty, enrolled students and their parents.

Graduation day

Graduation day – Was conducted on 26th June 2014 at Malla Reddy Gardens, Bowenpally,

Secunderabad for the 2010-2014 Batch of B. Pharm students. The Convocation was presided by

the Chairman of CMR Group of Institutions, Sri. Ch. Malla Reddy, the Secretary and

Correspondent, CMR Group of Instit utions, Sri. Ch. Gopal Reddy, Principal of CMR College of

Pharmacy, Dr. V. Uma Maheswara Rao and the Principals of CMRCET, CMRIT, CMRTC. The

Chief Guest, Dr. D. N. Reddy, Former Vice Chancellor, JNTUH and UGC Member administered

the graduates’ ceremonial oath and the certificates were distributed by the Guest of Honor Sri.

Alumni Meet

The first Alumni meet occurred in July 2012 and was a great success by the participation of the

more than 100 alumni of the college. It is regularly conducted every year where the alumni share

their views and experience with the college. This gives the existing students a platform to

interact with their super seniors and network with them.

Annual Day

Annual Day is celebrated grandly in the College on 1every year. The Principal presented the

annual report of the College for the academic year 2013-14. Academic prizes were distributed to

the toppers in JNTU examination by Dr. Uday Kumar, Deputy Director, National Institute of

Nutrition, Hyderabad. Prizes for different activities like sports, cultural, games and co-curricular

events were also distributed.



Parents Meet

CMR College of Pharmacy held its Annual Parents Meet on 15th September 2013. The feedback

of the parents was taken and they were apprised of their wards performance and attendance.

Hospital, Sec’bad delivered a guest lecture on Rheumatic Arthritis on 18th June 2014.

Gastroenterology, Gandhi Hospital, Sec’bad delivered a guest lecture on Peptic Ulcer

Disease on 29th April 2014.



5. Prof. Durragh Murnane, Professor, School of Life and Medical Sciences, University of

Hertfordshire, UK delivered a guest lecture on Target Release drug delivery system for

Asthma Patients on 21st December 2013.

A well established Training & Placement Cell is functioning in the campus to provide Training

and Campus placements to the Pharmacy students of CMRCP. Nearly 60 students of B. Pharm
