We have devised a new method to convert this cost into a profit by converting CO2 and H2S to higher value chemicals. Thus CO2 and H2S can be captured economically from gases. OUR INNOVATION In our process, we convert H2S to aqueous sulphides chemically (Ca(SH)2). Aqueous Sulphide is a tannery chemical and water treatment chemical amongst other uses. The reactions are very fast and happen at atmospheric temperature and pressure. Thus we robustly removal H2S and convert it to value added chemicals. CO2 is also removed in the same scrubber and converted to carbonates(CaCO3). This can be sold off. Thus, our innovative process cleans acid gases and ensures no emissions. It is economical as compared to traditional technologies due to profit realization after selling of carbonates and sulphides. PILOT PLANT We have successfully piloted this technology on bio-CH4 and is available for visits in Pune, India. Figure 1- 95% Completion Picture of scrubber installed in Pune. The pilot plant results can be extended after research to many gas purification applications like Natural Gas purification, Ethylene purification amongst other applications.

PREFACE

Removing acid gases like CO2 and H2S from product gas is a cost for all processes. We

have devised a new method to convert this cost into a profit by converting CO2 and H2S

TECHNICAL AND COMMERCIAL DATA

For 15 m3/h bio-CH4 feed.

Inlet H2S -100 ppm to 3 mol%.

Inlet Co2 -30-50 mol%

Bio-Gas Scrubbing chemical required - 16 kg/h @ 10 rs/kg.

Electricity required - 5.1 KW

Outlet H2S - Achieved less than 0.5 ppm.

Outlet CO2 - Achieved less than 4 mol%.

Actual outlet H2S and CO2 performance may vary based on site conditions like variation

in bio-gas feed composition.

Carbonates precipitated - upto 26 kg/h saleable at 10 rs/kg.

Aqueous Sulphide Produced - 1.5 kg / 1 kg H2S. Saleable at 40 rs/kg.

Space - 5 m x 6 m.

60 Rs = 1 USD approximately.

BRIEF PROCESS DESCRIPTION

Chemicals reacting with H2S and CO2 are contacted in an absorption column in a

counter-current fashion. The chemicals react away H2S and CO2 and clean gas exits the

absorption tower. The carbonates are filtered off. Aqueous sulphide enriched till

commercial grade and stored off for selling.

APPLICATIONS

1. Bio-Gas purification. (Tested)

2. Making Energy CO2 emissions free by capturing CO2 from flue gases at user

location. (To be developed.)

3. Natural gas purification. (To be developed.)

4. Ethylene purification. (To be developed.)
