Time to relax.

In the evening - welcome meeting, drinks & snacks.

Overnight: Warsaw: 3- or 4-star hotel in a central location.

DAY 2 - WARSAW

We start our tour of Warsaw with a short visit to the Museum of

Communism, devoted to documenting life during the period of the

People's Republic of Poland (PRL).

Then we move back in time in Warsaw’s Old Town of Warsaw

including the Royal Castle originally built in the 14th century.

After our lunch on the Main Square, we stroll along the elegant

street of Krakowskie Przedmiescie admiring the Presidential

Palace, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Saski Park.

Overnight: Warsaw: 3- or 4-star hotel in a central location.

DAY 3 - WARSAW - KAZIMIERZ DOLNY

In the morning you have the choice to visit either the:

Warsaw Uprising Museum honoring those who fought and

died in WWII action for an independent Poland and its

capital; or the

Polin Museum to explore the 1000 years of Jewish history

and contributions in Polish lands

Lunch, served in a traditional Polish Folk-Inn, is located in a former

Jewish Ghetto that was mainly inhabited by Jews before WWII. It

became the largest of all the Jewish ghettos in Nazi-occupied Europe.

Afterwards we drive to Kazimierz Dolny and enjoy an evening walk

around the market square in that charming little town.

Overnight: Kazimierz Dolny: 3- or 4-star hotel in a central location.

DAY 4 - KAZIMIERZ DOLNY - BIŁGORAJ - ZAMOŚĆ

Kazimierz Dolny is a genuine architectural gem and one of the

most precious and enchanting places in Poland. The uniqueness of

the town derives from its rich cultural heritage and the legacy of its

painting, writing and artistic bohemian flavor. Furthermore, it offers

many interesting and unique places to visit such as churches,

historical buildings of the Vistula Museum, the castle complex, and

wooden structures.

Our next destination, Biłgoraj was one of many multi-ethnic Polish

towns. Today, its inhabitants are working to revive its past by

rebuilding the wooden temples that perished during WW2. The

project is known as “Town on the Trail of Borderland Cultures”.

One of the main attractions is the only wooden synagogue in

Poland. Next on their list are the replicas of Orthodox and Catholic

churches and a mosque.

Our final destination for today is Zamość - a Renaissance gem and a

UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Overnight: Zamość: 3-star hotel in a central location.

Page 3: kalkulacja PGSA UKRAINE 2020€¦ · and Armenian cultures blossomed for centuries in harmony. Our tour includes the Old Town, the Armenian Cathedral, the L’viv High Castle, and

DAY 5 - ZAMOŚĆ – PRZEMŚL - LWÓW

After a short walk around the “Fortress in a new Italian style” as

Zamość is often called, we drive to Przemyśl, the second oldest

city in southern Poland, for lunch at a beautiful medieval

market square.

For a change of pace, relax as you view the countryside during

the 2-hour train ride to ancient and historic Lwów (L'viv). The

train avoids truck traffic and the long, time-consuming lines at the

border crossing.

You have the afternoon to explore the most beautiful Ukrainian

town.

Overnight: Lwów: 3- or 4-star hotel in a central location.

DAY 6 - LWÓW

We begin the day at the amazing Market Square with a sip of a real

Lemberg (L’viv) coffee and a bite of Galician Apfelstrudel while

watched by the lion – from which the name “L’viv” is derived.

and Armenian cultures blossomed for centuries in harmony.

Our tour includes the Old Town, the Armenian Cathedral, the

L’viv High Castle, and L’viv Theatre of Opera and Ballet.

Overnight: Lwów: 3- or 4-star hotel in a central location.

most significant European necropolises. It was founded in 1786

and since then only outstanding, well-known people of wealth,

culture, science, art and politics have been buried there.

Our drive through L’viv-Sokal-Belz-Zhovkva will step you back to

the authenticity of the Ukrainian Galicia of your ancestors.

Overnight: Lwów: 3- or 4-star hotel in a central location.

DAY 8 - LWÓW – PRZEMŚL - ŁAŃCUT

We begin the day with a presentation about the way the

DAY 9 - ŁAŃCUT - MARKOWA

In the morning we visit Łańcut Castle, 0ne of the most beautiful

aristocratic residences in Poland, world-famous for its excellent

interiors decorated with sculptures, chandeliers and paintings and an

extraordinary collection of horse-drawn carriages. In the splendid

park surrounding the castle you can visit the Orchid House with

orchids from across the globe.

On the outskirts of Łańcut we visit the village called Markowa

where a little open-air museum is located to see how a Polish

village looked, and what village life was like, in the late 1800's.

Returning to the 20th century, we visit the very modern Museum of

Poles Saving Jews in World War II. It sheds light on the Polish

people who helped their Jewish compatriots despite the risk of

losing their own lives and the lives of their relatives and friends.

It is a modern educational center conducting scientific research

and providing workshops for people from all over the world.

Overnight: Łańcut: 3-star hotel located nearby the castle

DAY 10 - RZESZÓW - TARNÓW - KRAKÓW

A short, morning drive, takes us to the largest city in southeastern

Poland, Rzeszów, with one of the best-preserved old towns in

the country.

Of particular interest is the “Underground Tourist Route” that

goes over 30 feet below the square and tenement houses on three

levels. Along the route one observes relics of medieval walls, signs

of fire, hundred-year old hand shaped bricks, hidden passages and

much more.

After lunch in the center of Rzeszów, on our route to Kraków we

make a stop in another beautiful medieval town - Tarnów.

Overnight: Kraków: 3-star hotel in the Old Town

DAY 11 - KRAKÓW

Situated at the foot of Wawel Castle and a former capital city,

Krakow is one of the most significant cultural centers in Poland.

Its long history makes it home to many outstanding examples of

medieval architecture, baroque churches, historical monuments and

the largest market square in Europe. Today, Kraków continues as

an academic and business center of great significance.

On our first day we admire the Old Town, then walk along the

Royal Route toward Wawel Castle, where, in the afternoon, we

receive a private guided tour through this magnificent regal

complex.

Overnight: Kraków: 3-star hotel in the Old Town

Page 5: kalkulacja PGSA UKRAINE 2020€¦ · and Armenian cultures blossomed for centuries in harmony. Our tour includes the Old Town, the Armenian Cathedral, the L’viv High Castle, and

DAY 12 - KRAKÓW

Kazimierz, the Jewish district of Kraków, is a p l a c e o f

exceptional and unusual character with many social, architectural,

cultural and religious treasures owing to its unique five hundred

years of Jewish tradition.

Oskar Schindler's Factory became known from Spielberg's

movie, “Schindler's List”. The former administration building of

the factory holds an exhibition titled “Krakow under Nazi

Occupation” that tells the story about the darkest period in Polish

history.

The Krakow Ghetto was one of five major, metropolitan Jewish

ghettos created by Nazis. On our tour we see the remains and

memorials of this district.

In the evening wander old Kraków or stroll back to Kazimierz for

dinner, drinks and perhaps some klezmer music.

Overnight: Kraków: 3-star hotel in the Old Town

DAY 13 - KRAKÓW

This is your last day in Poland

No activities planned. You are free to enjoy your remaining time

based on your flight arrangements. Or perhaps you are continuing

your exploration of Poland on your own or with us to your ancestral

towns.
