Respectful Responsible Inclusive NAIDOC Week Celebrations: We held our NAIDOC Week celebrations during Week 1. A massive thank you to Julie who coordinated the day. Students were involved in a range of workshops which all involved hands on activities. We also had a visit from Johnny Huckle, a Wiradjuri man who led our students in song. A wonderful time was had by all. You will find video and more photos on our school’s Facebook page. Education Week: The theme this year is ‘Every Student, Every Voice’. What a perfect theme for Kalinda School where we value each students’ voice and strive to ensure all students have access to a device so they can share their voice. It is a time when we celebrate the achievements of our students. None of this could or would be possible without the dedication of our staff, families and those that support our students such as therapists and friends. Congratulations to Joel, Patrick and Matthew C (Tanielu was absent) who yesterday were presented by Mr David Lamb, the Director of Educational Leadership Education Week Award at a ceremony at Pioneer Park yesterday in recognition of their leadership within our school. RDA - Condolences to John Clark’s family: On behalf of the students, families and staff of Kalinda School we would like to express our deepest condolences to Mr John Clark’s family who recently passed away. John was the caretaker of Dalton Park where our students attend Riding for the Disabled. Our thoughts are with them during this sad time. Positive Behaviour For Learning: Congratulations to Jarrel. He was given the PBL Values Award for being Responsible by doing his best work. The following students won the Monday morning PBL Free and Frequent Raffle; Reece Waind, Karanveer Sidhu and Zoey Frizell, they were able to choose from a selection of non-materialistic rewards. Congratulations to you all. Assembly Awards Week 2 Term 3, Congratulations!
