Dear Parents, Caregivers and Loved Ones, We are having our annual Valentine’s Dance on February 12th. We are going
to make this a special day for our partici-pants. The Troubadours will be here to entertain us and we will be making some cupid punch (sherbet). If you would like to send in goodies for that day please feel free to do so. Thank You!
2016 is a year of change for Kaleidoscope. While we will continue to offer programming to our “younger” adult population,
we have seen a growing need for those who are aging. Therefore, we are starting a new program area focused on serving our
participants who are over the age of 50. Not everyone who is over 50 will be moved to this new area. We plan to approach
some of our aging participants who will benefit from a quieter, smaller environment with increased nursing supervision that
will focus more on age related issues.
Also, we are hosting our 2nd annual Health Fair. Some of the vendors who have committed so far include Lowe Chiropractic,
Lee Clinic, Medline, Trader Joes, Spalding University Nursing students, and The Louisville Water Company, just to name a
few. Come enjoy some relaxation with a 10 minute massage, a light snack, and learn how to avoid or control high blood pres-
sure and/or blood sugar. There will be plenty of educational material and goodies to load up on too! The date is Friday, March
25, 2016, 11:00am -2:00pm. We hope to see you there!
Finally, ‘Move It to Lose It’ will continue this year with the addition of a team leader in each area to oversee and monitor each
participant’s progress in the program. If you would like to see your loved one work on something specific, (i.e. increased
walking/exercise, weight loss, healthy eating, etc.) please call me and I will relay the information to the team leader. If you
would like to know who the team leader is in your loved ones area, I will be happy to relay that information. We look forward
to improving on the success we saw from this program last year.

families of individuals receiving thera-
pies through the waivers to attend.
We are trying to prevent these regula-

out a "transition plan" as Medicaid calls it.
If you have any questions or would like more information feel free to call
me or email me.
Hope this finds you all well and anx-

I wanted to take time this month to
update all of our
families who have loved
ones who are re-
ceiving Speech, Occupational, or
Physical Therapy through their Waiver programs. Right now regulations have
been written and the Cabinet plan is to
remove therapies from the waiver pro-gram. What does that mean? At this
time there is no transition in place to
address lower reimbursement and cap limits of 20 sessions per year.
We are currently submitting written
comments to cite issues with the regula-tions. Please mark your calendars for
Monday, February 8th. There is a regu-
