Problem statement:

Improper distribution found in public distribution

system in India

Improving reach and efficiency of the Public Distribution

System

Scope of the broad

problem :

Only 10% of poor receive intended benefits on the subsidies offered by the PDS

The PDS Corruption estimate is around Rs. 20747 Crores

Causes of the problem:

Lack of awareness among people

Misuse of regional political powers

forged billings in the delivery system

Lack of knowledge about the problem for the distributing governance

Lack of proper plan about this issue

Reasons for selecting a specific cause: The major reason that our

team as selected this problem is because as we people from the less financial background we everyday face this problem in our regional ration shops and we have no hope that our regional political representatives will help the people to resolve this issue thus we on our own found a better way for the proper distribution!

Proposed Solution :

Making the database clear and visible to the people

Making printed bills Use of digitized LED boards in each

PDS shops Digitization of ration cards

Proposed innovative solution concept:

Concept of database: The database of the stocks must be made visible to the public The public don’t have any idea of the stocks so they question less the amount of stocks coming to the PDS shops must be made visible It can either be a hard or soft copy The stocks in the warehouse must be strictly monitored The stocks must leave from the warehouse with prior permissions The stocks entering and leaving the goo down must be updated daily in

a separate database Separate website for the public distribution system must be

established It should contains all the databases of stocks, selling, buying. All expenditures must be made visible to the public. Man power required: new people will be employed from I.T sectors Financial expenses & maintenance : expenses will be less than the

method which s being followed good maintenance will be needed.

Concept of billing

The printed bill is the powerful evidence of any

bought commodity Like all supermarkets and other departmental

stores the PDS stores must also have billing system

The goods sold for each card holder must billed So that the consumer can appeal in case of any

failure in the quantity and quality of supplied goods

More over the billing details of each and every good will be updated in the database

So that the accurate details about supply to every cardholder is monitored

And there is no way of selling any goods in the black market

Man power required: people with accounting knowledge will be given opportunities

Financial expense & maintenance: expense will not be high , maintenance will be needed

A MODEL OF THE BILL IS GIVEN BELOW:

Concept of LED boards

Every PDS stores must have a LED panel board

The board must contain all stock detail of that store

Example structure of the board is given aside

Manpower required: very less manpower

Financial expenses & maintenance : less expensive and much maintenance needed

,addition of family members can be implemented easily

The usage of ration card by every common man can be monitored

No worry about losing or theft about the card

The status and statement of every purchase is regularly updated in the created data base
