Installation

Injectors connection

⇒ Remove the engine plastic cover. ⇒ Locate the four injectors (Pict. 1)

⇒ Unplug all injectors 2 ways connectors

⇒ Plug RAPID two way female connectors to every single injector.

⇒ Plug RAPID two way male connectors to the original one just unplugged.

NOTE: - You my install RAPID wiring starting form the fist or the last injector, Rapid unit recognize automatically the injection sequence. - Be careful about the insertion direction of RAPID two way male connectors, strictly follow picture 2.

Connection to the gas potentiometer signal (GREY cable of the RAPID module wiring)

⇒ The pedal accelerator potentiometer is located near the corresponding control.

⇒ 6 cables came out from the potentiometer will be visible .

⇒ Use a multimeter to measure the continuous voltage (Vcc or V=).

⇒ Turn on the dashboard.

⇒ Ground the black push rod.

⇒ Check the voltage of one cable by means of the red push rod.

⇒ The signal cable is the one where you will measure approximately 0.5/1,5 V with the accelerator released and approximately 3,5-4.5 V with the accelerator pressed to the bottom.

⇒ Tightly weld the GREY cable of the RAPID module wiring to the signal cable found above.

Do NOT disconnect the connector of the potentiometer if the dashboard is on

SKODA FABIA 1.6 TDI 75hp For this model, you can take the reference signal directly from Pin53 of the ECU, stripping the wire in question on the surface, and weld in parallel, the gray wire of the Rapid wiring. (See Picture ). WARNING: ALWAYS, CHECK THE SIGNAL OF THE PIN n° 53 BEFORE CONNECTING THE GREY WIRE.

GOLF VI 1.6 TDI 105 Hp For this model, you need to take the reference signal directly from the potentiometer connector ( Pin n° 4 ) on the pedal accelerator, stripping the wire in question, and welding in parallel the gray wire of the Rapid wiring . To be able to comfortably reach from inside the engine compartment, you can pass the gray wire through the membrane, located behind the battery (see picture). WARNING: ALWAYS CHECK THE SIGNAL BEFORE CONNECTING THE CABLE GREY.

Fixing the module

To avoid problems after installing the module Rapid HPV, fix the HPV module into the body inside the engine compartment, in order to facilitate the dissipation of heat of the module, during extended use. Below are some suggestions where to fix the module Rapid HPV in 1.6 TDI engine of the VAG group.

VW Polo, Seat Ibiza

⇒ Example of fixing the Rapid module on VW Polo 1.6 TDI 75 hp,Seat Ibiza 1.6 75 hp.

⇒ HPV module fixed on the shell of the body, on the right side, near the battery. (You must make two holes in reference to the two slots of the Rapid module)

VW Golf

⇒ Example of fixing the Rapid module on VW Golf 1.6 TDI 105 hp.

⇒ HPV module fixed on the steering column which passes under the filter box ( as shown in the figure). ( Use the screw already present on the side of the column ).

CAUTION: Hot surfaces. During operation of the Rapid HPV, the surfaces can exceed 70°C . Avoid touching the hot surfaces marked in the picture.

⇒ Connect the Rapid module to the wiring.

⇒ Connect the switch (C08RWC01,If bought) to the two-way connector of the wiring.

⇒ Connect black RAPID wire to GND.

⇒ Connect red RAPID wire to +12 volts under key

⇒ Check the Led status of the Rapid module, is On. ( see the picture)

⇒ Place the Rapid module and the kit components far from any excessive heat sources.

Description of the digital calibration parameters of the RAPID HPV module

The RAPID HPV module can be checked by some digital parameters that can be modified by means of the device called CALIBRATION CONSOLE (F08IP-002 code, supplied as an option).

The RAPID HPV module parameters that can be modified are:

⇒ SET: it regulates the fuel supply enhancement and therefore the increase in the performances provided by the RAPID module. By increasing this parameter you can increase the extra amount of injected diesel, by decreasing it you will decrease this amount.

⇒ TH1: it regulates the RAPID module activation threshold by taking the ignition time as a reference. The RAPID module therefore is not activated until the ignition time exceeds the TH1 value.

⇒ TH2: it indicates how sudden must the Rapid module intervention be depending on the engine load

⇒ TH3: it indicates how sudden must the Rapid module intervention be depending on the RPMs

The variation of the standard pre-set parameters in the RAPID module by the manufacturer must be agreed with DIMSPORT technical assistance. Every new calibration must be tested on the vehicle while it is running.

Notes

⇒ If you had bought C08RWC01, It is possible to commute the RAPID module switch from on to off in any conditions of vehicle use, even though we recommend activating and deactivating the RAPID module when the vehicle is not working or with a low load.

⇒ If the switch is not connected to the special 2-way connector of the RAPID module wiring, the additional module remains constantly activated.

⇒ If you wish to use an alternative switch, please contact the technical assistance.

Warning

CAUTION: An excessive increase in performances could damage the engine or lead to the activation of the vehicle electronic protections. Please make sure that the vehicle works properly, namely the engine, before installing the Rapid module: a performance increase could highlight some potential defects of functioning.

⇒ We do not recommend assembling the Rapid module if the engine or the injection system have already been modified. NB: an excessive increase in performances could lead to damage the engine or to activation of the electronic control unit protections.

⇒ Do not turn on the controls board if all the connectors are not connected. If you do not follow this instruction there would not be any damages, but the control unit would memorize an error.

⇒ The Rapid module is designed for 12 to 30 Volt supply voltages, therefore make sure this limit is not exceeded by checking, before the installation, that the battery, the regulating circuit and the alternator work properly.

⇒ Place the RAPID module and its parts far from any excessive heat sources.
