K-THRUST 600 Thruster Control System The K-Thrust 600 Thruster Control System is highly modular system that can be configured for mechanical and electric propulsion as well as all types of thrusters. The Thruster Control system can operate as a stand-alone electric tunnel thruster, to complement the AutoChief 600 remote control system or similar main propulsion control system, or can be completely integrated with the AutoChief 600 remote control system. Main features: Dual/redundant field bus (CAN) Signal interfacing to sensors and actuators Alarm detection and process control Time stamping of alarms and events Direct mounting on engine is possible Design focused on EMC compatibility Three-way isolation Distributed Processing Units are installed in the Local Control Box and designed to be easily replaceable units.

K-Thrust 600 integrates TC with K-Pos DP/ Joystick system and forms a complete maneuvering system with both manual and automated maneuvering modesK-Thrust 600 can be configured for control of the following types of equipment:• Side tunnel thrusters• Azimuth propulsion units• Retractable azimuth thrusters• Electric propulsion• Medium/ high speed propulsion• Water jet

Features:A number of modes may be added, for example:• Navigation / maneuvering

mode• Power/RPM mode• Synchronous mode• Combinator/fixed rpm• Anchor handling• Shaft generator• Clutching• Combined lever, for

example two bow tunnels have common handle or propulsion and rudder share a limited rotation azimuth lever.

TopologyTwo CAN-buses provides redundant communication to one redundancy group, while the process net provides segregation between two (or more) redundancy groups. Integration to DP/JS and K-Chief is by process net.

Operator inputThe main HMI is touch based, apart from essential functions that are independent from operator panels. All equipment is presented on a common panel, providing a good overview. Motorized levers provide bumpless transfer and process feedback to the user.

Reference/heritageK-Thrust is installed on, amongst other, cable layers, floatels, supply vessels and shuttle tankers. It is closely related to AutoChief, which is installed on more than thousand vessels.

Integration to K-ChiefK-Thrust 600 is a standalone system that can be fully integrated to K-Chief 600. All alarm and signals are available on IVCS/AMS but K-Thrust 600 is still fully independent of K-Chief.
