The Mike Gable show. Judy Garland’s final TV appearance, a celebration of an incredible career packed with live performances of her most famous songs alongside astonishing tales from the roles that brought her international stardom. The cameras are rolling and a nation listens as Judy recounts a remarkable journey through Vaudeville and the world of Hollywood dreams. But stardom has a price, and Judy’s own yellow brick road wasn’t always painted with rainbows. Fifty years on from the death of Judy Garland, and in the wake of the hit movie, Judy, starring Renée Zellweger, Just Judy captures the highs and lows of one of the greatest performing artists of all time; funny, heart-breaking, thrilling, Just Judy is an inspiring, magical evening of theatre and song. Production Style Just Judy is designed to appeal to fans of Judy Garland alongside mainstream theatre audiences and lovers of classic movies and musicals. The production is set in a television studio, the audience immersed in the excitement and expectation of Judy Garland’s final TV interview before her untimely death in 1969. Mike Gable is our host, inviting Judy to recount her most fascinating moments (taken from real Judy Garland interviews). Extraordinary anecdotes from her most famous roles and shocking confessions from the scandals she tried to hide are interspersed with live performances of Judy’s best known songs, from her Hollywood films, her TV series and her vaudeville performances. Just Judy is performed by a cast of four on a set created by award-winning designer Victoria Spearing, alternating between TV studio and dressing rooms.
