BRICK EXPLORERS‘ QUEST CAMP

Enrollment: Rising K–2nd graders Dates: Session III: July 11–July 15 (Afternoon) Instructor: Bricks 4 Kidz® Get ready for a building quest that will take you on exciting missions around the globe! Encounter worst-case scenario survival brick challenges in the snowy Norwegian forest aboard Sven's sleigh. Venture to Queen Elsa's secluded brick ice castle. Explore far away kingdoms as your favorite brick knight for resources needed to construct a base camp to complete your quest. Build a lava launcher to defeat the evil jester. Do you have what it takes to go on an extreme explorer quest? Each camper will receive a Bricks 4 Kidz® t-shirt, build a custom LEGO® mini-figure and a LEGO® mini-model to take home.

Instructor: Greg McClellan An action-packed week of learning and fun! Five days of creative and interactive activities will allow students to discover more about music through the study of history, geography, language, science, art and music (of course) by listening to and understanding each movement of Saint-Saens‘ Carnival of the Animals. As students acquire new knowledge and deepen their understanding of musical motives, rhythm patterns, vocabulary terms (and their application), and piano techniques, they'll compose their own musical pieces based on their favorite animal. A special performance at the end of the camp will give them an opportunity to showcase all they have learned with family and friends!

CHAMPIONSHIP CHESS JUNIOR Enrollment: Rising K–3rd Graders Dates: Session VII: August 8–August 12 (Afternoon) Instructor: Championship Chess Championship Chess presents a systematic, fun way to build chess skills via instruction live game play. Studies show that engaging in the game of chess improves math, reading and problem-solving skills. Our methods of instruction connect these academic benefits to our classes.

DINOSAUR DISCOVERY Enrollment: Rising K–3rd graders Dates: Session V: July 25–July 29 (Afternoon) Instructor: Little Scholars Take an adventure back to the Jurassic Era in which we will learn about dinosaurs who roamed Earth millions of years ago! Uncover fascinating facts, build a replica dinosaur, and join in an archeological dig as you explore your paleontological skills. In Dinosaur Discovery, you will become a paleontologist faster than ornithomimids running from a T-Rex!

GALAXY FAR AWAY CAMP

Dates: Session VII: August 8–August 12 Instructor: Bricks 4 Kidz® Join Bricks 4 Kidz® on an adventurous journey through space! Build motorized and non-motorized LEGO® models, play games and activities centered around space and Star Wars™. Build a Starfighter and Tie Fighter to blast through the atmosphere into a realm that is truly out of this world. Then, travel back in time to build NASA's Gemini Capsule. Come experience this stellar journey to a galaxy far away...may the brick be with you! JURASSIC BRICK LAND Enrollment: Rising K–2nd graders Dates: Session I: June 27–July 1 (Morning) Instructor: Bricks 4 Kidz® Are you ready for the adventure of a lifetime? Put on your hiking boots and camouflage…you‘re about to enter Jurassic Brick Land! Campers will build a world that comes to life with gentle Brontosaurus, ferocious Velociraptor, terrifying T. Rex and more. We‘ll learn about amazing dinosaurs that lived during the Jurassic period, and other extinct, prehistoric animals that roamed the earth and swam the seas during that era. Show us your building skills using our specialized project kits! Come learn, build and play at Jurassic Brick Land camp! Each camper will get a Bricks 4 Kidz® t-shirt and will build their own mini-figure and LEGO® mini-model to take home.

KRAFTY KIDS Enrollment: Rising K–2nd graders Dates: Session II: July 5–July 8 (Afternoon) Instructor: Little Scholars Course Fee: $10 Do you like to paint, craft, and create? Then this camp is just for you! In Krafty Kids, we will create one-of-a-kind masterpieces like canvas art. We‘ll explore with watercolors and get in-touch with our inner artist as we create an ―Andy Warhol‖ inspired piece of art. You will be able to express your unique personality with personalized pieces. Krafty Kids will come away from this camp with many treasured mementos.

MINING & CRAFTING

Enrollment: Rising K–2nd graders Dates: Session VI: August 1–August 5 (Afternoon) Instructor: Bricks 4 Kidz® Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. At night monsters come out, make sure to build a shelter before that happens. Experience the world of Minecraft with LEGO® bricks in this fun camp! Kids will start by crafting their shelters and some of the mobs, critters and tools using LEGO® bricks. Campers will face new challenges each day, building motorized Bricks 4 Kidz models and crafting key elements from the popular Minecraft game. At the end of the week, all MINERS AND CRAFTERS will go home with a custom mini-model and a LEGO mini-model!

During this action-packed camp, you will become part of a tribe and compete for immunity just like the real contestants. Test your courage with food and water challenges! You and your tribe members will maneuver through physical and mental challenges while participating in puzzle activities and scavenger hunts. ―The tribe has spoken!‖

TRAINING ACADEMY CAMP

Instructors: Stefanie Lapp and Nicole Jackson All the rage in gyms and fitness circles, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) is an exhilarating method of enjoying a full-body workout. Campers interested in sports and fitness of all kinds are encouraged to try this program that features simple, quick movements that add up to a fun, uplifting group exercise!

They will participate in a variety of activities to hone these skills and then apply them to game situations. A segment each day will emphasize healthy habits, positive attitude, and cooperative teamwork. Campers of all abilities are welcome. Become an excellent teammate and well-rounded athlete! Healthy rewards will be earned throughout the week.

VOLLEYBALL Enrollment: Rising 5th–8th graders Dates: Session VI: August 1–August 5 (Morning) Instructor: Rachel Fehl This volleyball camp focuses on intensive collective and individual skills development. Come join us as we explore the world of comics and graphic novels! We will learn about the different styles of cartooning, create new characters and storylines, and build a portfolio of your work.

CREATING MASKS Enrollment: Rising 3rd–5th Graders (Morning)

Rising 6th–8th Graders (Afternoon) Dates: Session III: July 11–July 15 Instructor: Alyssa Shevchuk Course Fee: $10 Who are you?! Our week together would focus on creating the faces of drama. We will study the cultural meanings and historical value of masks. We will construct a silly or scary Halloween mask and a tribal mask. Let‘s create a disguise together!

We will create autograph books, scrapbook pages, and clever countdowns to Disney! Additionally, we will construct technological crafts, character-themed decorations, hand prints, picture frames, gift bags, placemats, banners, and magnets. Bring your imagination! Daily Disney trivia will occur and campers can earn Disney Dollars to spend at the store at the end of the session.

Session V: July 25–July 29 (Afternoon) Instructor: Jeanne Tyler Course Fee: $10 ENROLL EARLY FOR THIS POPULAR CAMP AND INSTRUCTOR. Spend a week drawing exotic animals and unique plant life found in the depths of the rainforest. This art class offers a unique opportunity for your child to learn to draw from photos using a very detailed, systematic approach. You will be amazed at what you are able to produce after this class! ELEMENTS OF DESIGN

Rising 5th–8th Graders (Afternoon) Dates: Session VI: August 1–August 5 Instructor: Alyssa Shevchuk Dream of being the next pop idol? We are scouting talent just like you! Create, prepare, and produce a track for the Millwood CD/Album, using GarageBand. Singing, and even humorous monologues and storytelling will be featured by YOU on the CD! Join us in performing, and then producing the CD. Our time together will also involve making the "album art," screen-printing a poster, and producing CDs to give to family and friends. Dream big and share your talent with us!

Rising 5th–8th Graders (Afternoon) Dates: Session VII: August 8–August 12 Instructor: MacNeill James Tired of taking the same of selfies and Snaps? Improve your photography game! Elements of photography including: perspective, point of view, filtering, coloration, and media messages are part of a well-rounded approach to photography. Apply the elements of photography and design to a portfolio documenting your progress with style and design!

KIDS‘ CHOIR Enrollment: Rising 1st–5th graders Dates: Session V: July 25–July 29 (Afternoon) Session VII: August 8–August 12 (Morning) Instructor: Greg McClellan As students acquire knowledge about musical motives, rhythm patterns, vocabulary terms and use, and vocal techniques, they'll practice for a final collaborating performance. Each day will focus on a particular basic approach to clay: pinch/elbow/knee pots, masks, jewelry, and bowls. Pieces will be dried, fired, glazed, and then fired again. Though they may not be ready to go home Friday, correspondence will inform families as to when pieces are ready (within a few weeks) and where they can be picked up during camp hours. Let‘s create something special!

SCULPTING Enrollment: Rising 5th–8th Graders (Morning),

Rising 3rd–5th Graders (Afternoon) Dates: Session V: July 25–July 29 Instructor: Alyssa Shevchuk Course Fee: $10 Through Papier Mâché, paper, clay, duct tape, and plaster of Paris sculpture projects, we will explore two major methods of constructing sculpture: negative to positive (creating something from nothing), and positive to negative (starting with a ―block‖ and taking space away). We will also create a ―found objects‖ installation: students will collect materials from campus, take materials from home (items most people might consider trash) and construct their own sculpture for display. You will be blown away by what you can create!

SUPER SLEUTHS Enrollment: Rising 6th–8th Graders (Morning) Dates: Session IV: July 18–July 22 Instructor: Little Scholars WANTED: Detectives and Investigators! Get out your magnifying glasses and detective hats as we have clues to decipher and crimes to solve. We‘ll put our critical thinking skills to the test and get to the bottom of mysteries by learning the tricks real investigators use to solve cases. While experimenting with simple detection techniques, your reasoning skills will develop, and your problem solving skills will become better than CSI agents‘.

TICKLING THE IVORY: A PIANO CAMP Enrollment: Rising 5th–8th graders Dates: Session I: June 27–July 1 (Afternoon) Instructor: Greg McClellan An action-packed week of learning and fun! Five days of creative and interactive activities to help students discover more about music through the study of history, geography, language, science, art and music (of course) by listening to and performing music on the piano. As students acquire new knowledge and deepen their understanding of musical motives, rhythm patterns, vocabulary terms and use, and piano techniques, they'll be working on composing their own musical pieces and learning about improvisation. A special performance at the end of the camp will give them an opportunity to share all they have learned with family and friends!
