Juniors
Fulbright Program
Available for teaching and research
The Fulbright organization will place you in schools overseas
Generally last between eight and ten months
These placements come with housing (for teaching candidates) and stipends (money!)
For research candidates, the fellowship will give you money for housing
James Madison Fellowship
Fellowship program for students planning to attend graduate school for American History Education, American Government Education, or Social Studies Education
Students must agree to teach in one of these fields for at least a year after receiving scholarship
Fellowship amount: up to 12,000 a year
Soros Fellowship for New Americans
Fellowship for students who are first generation Americans, or whose parents are first generation Americans
Fellowship provides for graduate tuition as well as a stipend
Awards can total up to $90,000 in tuition and living expenses
Boren Foundation Scholarship
Funding opportunities for students to study languages in another country
Languages are limited to those deemed to be languages critical to US national security
Languages include: Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Swahili
Up to 30,000 for two years of study
National Science Foundation
Award for students in the STEM fields who are planning on pursuing Master’s or Doctoral Degrees at US institutions supported by the NSF
American Association of University Women
Fellowship given to women in STEM fields as well as architecture
Fellowships are also available to minorities pursuing MBAs, JDs, or MDs
JET Program
Program run through the Japanese government that pays students to teach English in Japan
Rangel International Affairs Program
Fellowship for students planning on entering the foreign service
Pays for graduate program in foreign policy (two years) and two internships: one in DC, one overseas
Recipients must commit to serve as a foreign services officer for at least three years after graduating

SMART
SMART = Science, Math, & Research for Transformation
A scholarship run out of the Department of Defense
Awardees must participate in summer internship with DoD
Awardees must work with DoD after graduation
Must be participating in major in STEM
Truman Scholarship
Scholarship for campus “change agents” who are planning to work in government, education, or the non-profit or public sector
Covers tuition for up to $30,000 for graduate school
Applied for in junior year
Pickering Foreign Affairs Scholarship
Up to $40,000 for senior year of undergrad and first year of grad
Two paid internship with state department
Recipients must agree to serve as foreign services officer for three years after graduate school
Apply in your junior year
Udall Scholarship
Tuition scholarship awarded to sophomore and junior level students
Awarded to students who are pursuing careers in the environment OR Native American students pursuing careers related to tribal policy or Native American healthcare
Yale Pre-MBA
Two week summer program for populations under-represented in business
Works with students on management and leadership skills
Great opportunity for students considering an MBA

10-week Summer internship offered through NASA
