Pitstop Checks Tammy from the Bass Coast Community Health Services attended on site Tuesday 10

th May and conducted “Pitstop “checks on all the guys.

There were eight categories. 1. Chassis check. ( Hip to waist ) 2. Oil pressure. ( Blood pressure ) 3. Fuel efficiency. ( Physical activity ) 4. Exhaust. ( Smoking ) 5. Fuel additives. ( Alcohol consumption ) 6. Spark plugs. ( Testicles ) 7. Duco. ( Skin cancer ) 8. Rev factor. ( Mental health )

Depending on the rating in each category each guy was rated either roadworthy or unroadworthy. It was a worthwhile exercise and all the guys enjoyed participating in the exercise.

Islanders Day Club Trip on the Tramboat

Monday May 2nd 40 of us gathered

at the RSL for a bus trip to

Melbourne, and an outing on the

Melbourne Tramboat Cruise.

We left an overcast Island at 8am,

picked a few members up on the

way, and arrived at the Tramboat at

10.30, with the sun shining for us.

We were able to subsidise the trip

for our members, we enjoyed a

lovely morning tea on the boat, we

cruised the Maribyrnong River, and

disembarked at the Anglers Tavern

in Essendon, we enjoyed a lovely

lunch at the Tavern, we rejoined the

boat and our lovely hosts Anthony

and Lisa.

We cruised into Victoria harbour, under the Bolte Bridge past the

sugar mills, Waterfront City Marina, Etihad Stadium.

Everyone agreed that the day was

wonderful, we arrived home tired and

happy about 4.30pm.

Indoor Sports

Both the darts and pool teams are progressing well in their respective associations. The dart team

remains unbeaten, but faces some very strong opposition still to be played, as it progresses through

the first half of the season draw. The pool team is placed in mid field, despite having some of the

best players on the island as members. It was suggested that it might be appropriate to curtail

before game practice at the clubrooms prior to the matches, but this was soundly defeated, as some

members maintained they did not know how they would perform under those trying conditions.
