Milly vs. Edithby Susan Pragoff

I went around camp and asked people which Farm & Garden pig they preferred. The favorite pig was Milly. Bad luck for Edith. I guess she isn’t popular. But Eva Parker has a Bible verse that de-scribes Edith. 1 Samuel 16:7 says “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance

but the LORD looks at the heart.” Edith has a big heart and is the favorite pig on the inside. Remember to always look on the inside of the heart. Milly may have the looks but Edith has a big heart.

According to a recent poll taken, I found out that 4 out of 5 campers would

rather be an even than an odd! In addition to this, 4 out of 6 campers would rather have a bottom bunk than a top bunk. I also took a survey and found out that

the majority of people favored the funnel cake as the favorite food at Carnival!

The True Table Counselor of The head Tableby Merritt Risher (and kinda sorta Lena Hooker)

Have you ever wondered who runs the Head Table at meal times? We think Sarah Brown is the true table counselor because she has many qualities that would make a great table counselor. Her organizational

skills are unlike any other. She plans EP’s with ease, and always makes sure things are running smoothly. Just like the Head Table. People will always listen to Sarah Brown because she is mature, kind and logical. It would be impossible for anyone to disagree with her opinion once they see her reasoning. Sarah Brown is one of the many unsung he-roes of Greystone. She holds this camp together in the same fashion

After asking campers, counselors, and head staff, I learned that the favorite joke from Breakfast Club was about our

good friends Ike, Pike, and Mustard. It is so full of SUGAR and everyone loves a sweet story. And to make it better add a squirt of HONEY. Laura loves this story as well as the campers. The story is a camp favorite for both staff

and campers.

Staying Healthy at Camp:

We interviewed the nurses at the health hut for some tips on how to stay healthy at camp.Here are their responses:

What is the best way to keep from getting sick?

- Wash your hands often- Drink plenty of water

What do you want to say to campers nervous about getting sick?

Don’t think about it, only a fraction of camp-ers stay in the health hut and only a fraction of those campers stay for more than a day.

How can cabin mates cooperate with one an-other to avoid spreading germs?

- Not sharing things like toothbrushes, hair brushes, razors, wash clothes, etc.- Doing your jobs- Not eating or drinking after each other

There you have it, Greystone girls! And don’t forget to wash, water, screen!

How to incorporate Greystone into your daily livesby Libby McGinley

By the time you are reading this, closing day is very very soon or it has already passed. You are pretty upset that you have to say goodbye to Greystone. The question is, do you really have to say goodbye? The answer is no. No you don’t. If Greystone is in your heart, you don’t ever have to say goodbye to it, but you can use ways to incorporate it in your life.

First of all, when you wake up, in your head or aloud, you can say “It’s a great day and I feel terrific” to start your day in a positive way just like you do at camp.

Next, the Greystone Store has so much stuff for sale, so most likely you have something purchased from there. If it’s an article of clothing, wear it and tell your friends about it. If it’s something else, you can show it and tell your friends about it too.

If you are in metal jewelry, glass beads, glass fusion, ceramics, or any class where you make something, you can wear it or show it to people and they will be astounded when you tell them you made it. It might be so well done that they might not even believe you made it.

Next, you can share Jimboy’s jokes with your friends if you want to have a good laugh with them. Introduce them to your friends Ike, Pike, and Mustard if you must. They will love them just like we love it when Jimboy tells them.

Jimboy and Simon frequently talk about getting involved with your church and getting deeper in your faith. The best way to incorporate Greystone in your life is to do that. It can make you a better person, more positive, and it can even make your faith stronger just like camp does.

Lastly, just talk about your experiences here at camp! It is the best way that you can incorporate it in your lives. Remember the fun times you had with your cabin, in your classes, and during EPs. Tell someone how DELICIOUS the oreo creme pie was that you ate here. Maybe even use an online recipe to make your own. Talking is the best way to spend time with your friends. If you want to make a new friend, remember to just smile :)

Next time you are missing your second home back in Zirconia, think of these things and do them if you can and your homesick-ness will significantly decrease.

A Day in the Lifeof Jimboy

Everyone loves Jimboy but we never know what he does through out the day. I interviewed Jimboy and asked him what he does during the day. I will also tell you the questions I asked. All of

these things were said by Jimboy! Now onto the article!

How do you start the day?

First he wakes up at 5:30 and makes himself some coffee. Yes, and you thought taps was early! Then he will read his devotion, the paper, or a book while sitting in his chair that looks over camp. Once he has finished this he will wake up Dr. Margaret. They will get ready, then they will have a meeting with all the group leaders at their house.

After their meeting, they will go to breakfast.

What do you do during the day?

From breakfast, he goes to his office and answers emails, blogs on what will happen that day at camp, and meets with counselors and campers. He then goes to lunch. He then finishes anything he had left from the office. After rest hour, he will walk through camp

checking anything maintenance wise. Then if he has time, he will get some running in his day. He will then go back home and get ready for dinner. He goes to dinner then evening program. After evening pro-gram, he will close things at the office and then will go home. He tries to then be asleep by 10:00. In my point of view, he is very busy!!!!!

FUN FACTS!!!Do you ever visit classes?

When he walks around camp sometimes he will. But he has only gone to half of the classes this June Camp.

What dog do you mostly hang out with?

Ben usually goes home during the winter to Raleigh. Mimi and Murray stay all year. So technically Mimi and Murray stay with Jimboy the

most.

What is your favorite short story?

Jimboy loves the "I can see clearly now that Lorraine is gone," which is the more popular one. But he also likes "Christian Bear" a lot, too,

but sadly that is not the more popular one.

What is your favorite Evening Program?

He said that all of them are great, but he loves the CABIN LIPSYNC! He says this is his favorite because he gets to see all the new

campers. Plus he loves seeing the funny ones!
