Needed each week: $1,300.00 The final report was not ready by the time the bulletin went to print. Please watch for a report next week. On June 22 we will adopt a budget for next year. The new fiscal year begins on July 1.Thank you for your goodness and generosity! We promise to be wise and prudent stewards of the gifts you have dedicated to God’s work.

Sr. Anna Mary Henrietta Nyangoma, Superior General of the Evangelizing

Sisters of Mary has appointed Sr. Rita Mrema, originally from Tanzania, for ministry at our parish and school. We have started the process for procuring a religious worker visa for Sister. Hopefully she will be here on time to begin work in September. Two other sisters will live with her in the convent (former rectory) and work elsewhere, but also minister to us at St. Adalbert. Sr. Rita has vast experience and has also served in leadership in her order. This is exciting and great news for us and for the whole Diocese of Cleveland as the first African Religious Order of Women Religious to make a foundation in our diocese begins work at Adalbert/OLBS!

Convent Update: The second floor has been repainted. We received donations of furniture from St. John Vianney Parish in Mentor, Our Lady of the Angels Parish in Cleveland, and Fortuna Funeral Home in Cleveland. After the painting is finished and some repair work is done in the bathrooms we will clean the carpet, arrange furniture, and begin work on the first floor kitchen, dining room, parlor, and chapel.

Thursday School Masses are suspended for the summer months and will resume again after the opening of School in August. If you have an email address and have not been receiving updates from Fr. Gary, please send him an email at [email protected]. He sends an update once each week and if there is some breaking news he may send one midweek. This is a great and inexpensive way to keep informed about the news of our parish. We also have a parish facebook page. Search for us and “like us!”

June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Here is a prayer that you can offer today and every day during June.

O most holy heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you, and with lively sorrow for my sins I offer you this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to your will. Grant, Good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you. Protect me in the midst of danger. Comfort me in my afflictions. Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.

Next Sunday we will celebrate First Holy Communion during the 11am Mass. May Jesus, the Bread of Life, fill their hearts with joy and faith. As we mae room for them at the table of the Lord may God renew the grace of our first holy communion in each of us. Following the 11am Mass next Sunday we will have a social to honor our first communicants and those confirmed yesterday. Please make a special effort to join us.

Parish Census: In July we will begin a parish census to learn how we may best serve the people of God at St. Adalbert/OLBS. Please take the time to complete the census as completely and accurately as possible so that we can better serve you in the months and years ahead. è Anyone willing to pick up an elderly person to bring him or her to Mass on Sunday? Please call or email Father Gary to let him know. We have just a few people in the Cleveland Heights area who could use this service.
