Fr. Chris’ Corner Dear friends in the Lord, I pray you are staying healthy and safe. Our team here at St. Teresa of Avila is doing everything we can to continue to serve you and provide a sense of connectedness to the Lord and one another. Thank you for continuing to support the mission through your generous gifts and financial donations. As we approach July 4, we will be moving into a new phase here at St. Teresa. We are still waiting on some updated guidelines from the Diocese but in the meantime our plan moving forward is as follows: The office will reopen on Monday, July 6. Our max capacity in the church will be increasing to 90 people. Weekend Masses will be by reservation only as instructed by
the diocese and can be made through an online platform called “Save-A-Seat”; a link will be provided online. If you do not have access to the internet, feel free to call the office.
Weekend Masses for July will be Saturdays at 4:00 PM and Sundays at 9:30 AM Weekday Masses are returning to their regular times: Monday/Wednesday at 5:15 PM; Tuesday/Thursday at 8:00 AM; and Friday at 12:30 PM. All liturgies will continue to be livestreamed on the main Facebook page for St. Teresa of Avila (@sttvalpo). For those attending Mass please remember to: Enter through the south Laporte doors of the church Arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in Wear a face mask upon entry and throughout Mass Immediately sanitize hands Maintain physical distancing in church and parking lot As a basic rule, no one should attend Mass who is; Running a fever, sneezing and coughing, feeling ill All of these safeguards are in place in order to provide a safe and healthy environment for our community. Thank you for being patient and understanding. I can’t wait to be together again; I love you and miss you! Faithfully yours in the Lord, Fr. Chris Stanish

Tithing As individuals we are called to be good and generous stewards with God’s manifold gifts. Tithing is the means whereby we have the opportunity to give
thanks to God; with that in mind, the community of St. Teresa of Avila tithes $450 weekly. This week our tithing will be donated to our College Retreats.
Liturgy and Worship
What does it mean to have a Mass "offered" for someone? An individual may offer a Mass Intention for several reasons: for example, in thanksgiving, for the intentions of another person (such as on a birthday), or, as is most common, for the repose of the soul of someone who has died. If you are interested in offering a Mass Intention here at St. Teresa of Avila you must complete a Mass Intention Request Form. This form can be found on our website (saintt.com) on the Spirituality & Worship page which is found under the GROW tab. Once you complete the form, send it along with the stipend, and we will confirm your Masses with you. If you need help with the form, please feel free to email Christine at [email protected] for assistance.

Hilltop Food Drive Update: Our awesome community donated 40 bags this week for a total of 460 bags!!!! Throughout this time, Hilltop Food Pantry has been able to provide five days’ worth of meals (including meat and fresh produce) each week to approximately 60 families (250+ people). They just calculated the value and they have been giving each family approximately $180 in groceries each week because of the love and generosity of so many! Mary and I find as much joy in delivering these items as they do in receiving them and passing them on! We truly are all in this together! Spam, Hamburger Helper, Diapers – Size 6 ONLY, Hearty soups, ramen noodles, mac & cheese, cereal,
canned ravioli, & jelly
If you would like to donate one or more of these items, drop them off at the LaPorte Ave door from 8am-8pm except during live-streaming (10:00am– 11:00am). We understand that trips to the grocery store are few in far between, but if your next shopping trip is coming up, keep Hilltop in mind!

Greetings, Thank you for organizing the First Communion. It was a very special day for Sarah and we appreciate all that you did to make it happen. Words cannot express how special the St. T's congregation is our family. People have gone above and beyond to make this day special for Sarah; from the wonderful service, people cheering when we came out of church, and the many cards that Sarah have received from members of St. T. It is wonderful to be a part of this community. Thank you again,
Jeanne Piech

Please continue to pray for our First Communion children who will be receiving the sacrament throughout the month of June.
Needless to say, the preparation process has not been what we expected, but it has not diminished their excitement for the big day!
A special thanks to all the parents who helped their
children complete the lessons at home. You are living examples of the domestic church!
