Restarting In-Person Masses—June 28! We are beginning phase 1 of reopening on June 28 with an in-person Mass at 10:30. We are so excited to see some of our people again! For those of you who are not ready to come together just yet, we will continue to stream Mass each Saturday evening at 5:00 on our Facebook page and YouTube channel. Farmer’s Market The farmer’s market will once again be in our parking lot this summer starting Saturday, June 20, 8 a.m. to noon, and Tuesday, June 23, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. They will run every Saturday and Tuesday thru October. Faith formation registration is now open Although we are not certain of the format we will be using for faith formation when it begins again in the fall, we do know that we will make robust programming in some form available to all St. Tim’s families. Register online or by using the form that was sent out to all our current faith formation families. Parish Office Closed The parish office will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.

It’s time to register for Vacation Bible School!

Vacation bible school is coming August 3 through 7! Children age four through sixth grade are invited to Wilderness Escape! This exciting vacation bible school focuses on the stories of Moses and the Israelites as they leave Egypt and head for the Promise Land. Get ready for stories new and old, but always fun!

Due to social distancing concerns, we will be offering a virtual VBS this year. Don’t worry though, there will still be fun songs, art projects, games, and Bible stories! Videos will be presented online, and children will also get the chance to meet with other kids and talk about the stories, share finished art projects, and prepare for the traditional Friday quiz game! Blood Drive There will be a blood drive at St. Tim’s on Wednesday, July 22 from 1 to 6 p.m. You must have an appointment to give blood—no walk-ins will be allowed. The drive will be staffed by Red Cross volunteers, following strict safety protocols. (See last week’s bulletin for full details.) We are going virtual this year! St. Tim’s Carnival

As you have heard, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel all in-person activities for our annual three-day carnival in September. For over 50 years our carnival has been the largest fundraiser and community event each year. On average, we have profits of about $80,000 from this weekend and these funds are used to support our annual operating expenses for the parish. It is easy to see that the cancellation of the in-person carnival events will be a loss to the parish not only financially, but also, and more importantly, as a wonderful weekend that many of us, along with the greater local community, look forward to all year long. Although there will not be any in person activities, we will still have a few events that are typically at our carnival, but they will just look a little different this year. Here are some of the ways you can support the carnival this year: We are still having the raffle! Tickets are being mailed to all registered households. We will draw the lucky winners on the afternoon of September 13—will you have the $10,000 winning ticket? We are also still having the aluminum can drive so please drop off your cans at the receptacle in the parking lot any time up until September 13. And the most fun of all will be our online silent auction! As in other years, the silent auction will be a mixture of individual donations, baskets, and business donations. Here are just some ideas to get you thinking creatively about what to donate this year:

• Do you have season tickets to a sporting event (that can be used when all is back to normal) or the theatre? Consider donating tickets for a game, or for a show, to the silent auction.

• Hair salons often will donate a haircut certificate to our

silent auction. If you are a recurring customer, you could inquire whether they would be willing to donate (we can provide you with an official letter if needed, just call the parish office to request one).

• Oil change places are also great places to obtain a silent

auction item. If you regularly get your oil changed at the same place, please inquire if they are willing to donate a certificate or two for an oil change.

• We are also looking for individual items for the silent

auction. Sometimes there are remarkable sales out there for common household appliances like coffee makers, crock pots, and griddles, that would be great for the silent auction.

• Of course our baskets are always a hit at the auction. Get creative and put together a themed basket—from family game night to crafter’s delight—so many ideas of what you can do!

• Since we are in the Coronavirus era, the committee is

also wondering if there are people who would like to make packages of masks to offer as a silent auction item. Since you are supposed to wash them after each use, a package of seven masks might be a very desirable, useful item for today and hopefully a collectible for the future to relive your memories with your grandchildren to be. Packages of masks could be conservative or fun with personality—you be the artist!

• If you would rather have a carnival chair make the

request of a vendor that you know, please call Patty Korkowski 763.493.4711 and she will be happy to make the request for you.

Since this is our first time doing an online auction, preparing will take a little longer, so we are asking that donation be submitted to the parish office by August 1. Please call the parish office at 763.784.1329 to set up a time to drop off your donation. We are looking forward to seeing your creativity this year – from baskets to gift certificates to big-ticket items – your ideas will help to make this event a success! As we go through the summer you will see more information about the progress of raffle ticket sales and some of the great things that are going up for auction – be sure to watch our website, the bulletin, and our Facebook page. We thank you for all that you have done for our carnival in past years and for your continued support for this year’s events!
