Holy Father’s Prayer Intentions

The Tradition of the Church has enriched many prayers and devotions with indulgences, and one of the requirements for gaining an indulgence is to pray “for the intentions of the Holy Father”, but what are we praying for? These intentions, which have been set down by tradition and the Magisterium for centuries, are: 1. The triumph of Holy Mother Church, 2. The rooting out of heresy, 3. The propagation of the Faith, 4. The conversion of sinners, and 5. Peace among Christian rulers.

Our Father. Hail Mary.

June — The Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

A Note From Our Pastor:

Some of our parishioners have asked if the recent changes that the Pope has made to the “Our Father” and “Gloria” will affect us here in the United States. These are changes that have been requested in Italy and they will not affect us.

Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Mass Schedule Friday, June 28 12:15 pm – St. Andrew 6:30 pm – St. Andrew

Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Mass Schedule Tuesday, July 2 12:15 pm – St. Andrew 6:30 pm – St. Patrick Bishop Strickland is requesting for these Masses to be said with the intention of reparation for the sins that have impact-ed the Church. It is also most appropriate for communities to publicly recite the Act of Reparation on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and a plenary indulgence is granted to those who do, under the usual conditions.

In addition to our regular Weekday Masses, 12:15 Tuesday-Friday in English, we are now having Masses on Thursday evenings at 6:45 pm in Spanish.

GOD BROKEN-HEARTED AGAIN

"The Lord Jesus on the night in which He was betrayed took bread, and after He had given thanks, broke it

and said, 'This is My body, which is for you.' " —1 Corinthians 11:23-24

At the Last Supper, Jesus first gave us His Body and Blood on the night He was betrayed. This was a harbinger of Masses to come. Jesus' greatest gift, the gift of His own Body and Blood, is often rejected when we refuse to believe in the Eucharist or when we have attitudes of selfishness at Mass. How heartbreaking to Jesus when He sees us try-ing to make the Mass fit conveniently into our lives rather than radically transforming our lives to center them on our Eucharistic Lord!

Jesus is the most rejected, divorced, and abused Person Who has ever lived. Yet He keeps coming back for more. He makes Himself so vulnerable when He faithfully and constantly changes bread and wine into His Body and Blood. However, Jesus exposes His broken heart to further brokenness because He is God, Who is Love (1 Jn 4:8, 16). Love loves unconditionally. Love loves even if hated and crucified in return. On this solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, decide to accept the grace to love our Eucharistic Jesus. Offer your body as a living sacrifice (Rm 12:1) so that His Body and Blood will no longer be disbelieved, ignored, and pushed even further into the margins of so many people's lives. Make reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
