Swap Market (SW) via our Club Web Page
We are setting up a special section of the web page to facilitate and enhance communication within the
club. Scott Riggins a new club member will manage this new segment. It is somewhat like a section of the
newsletter where we provided space for communication on firearms and similar items for sale. Most likely
communication by email or other will create a post of items for sale or items of interest for purchase.
Posting will only be available by club members. Look for more information on this item in our July
newsletter.
Championing Youth at our Club
As I am writing, there are four youths from our membership traveling to New Mexico to attend the NRA
shooting camp at the Whittington Center. At our July monthly meeting, we will have a report from their
participation and activity. The program is called the “Taylor Grant”. The Taylor Grant also provides support
training on youth shooting programs provided by the CMP. The Taylor Grant is named after our current
and long-term president, George Taylor. The grant provides support by covering 50% of the cost for the
camp / training and for travel expenses.
Construction Activity
Work on the indoor range new backstop is under construction. Chuck Augustine and Jon Stonestreet are
managing the project. The new backstop will allow us to shoot jacketed pistol ammo. Prior to this
construction, we were only able to shoot lead projectile round indoors.
Work is also in progress on an additional trap range. The new range is scheduled for completion by
yearend for planned use starting in 2022. The Manual Trap Range was relocated recently to accommodate
the new range. Parking for the newly relocated manual range is now accessible via the garage roadway
and the Archery Range.

Committee Assignments
• Beaver, Greene, and Washington Counties
• Committee Assignments
• Labor & Industry, Chair
• Intergovernmental Operations
• Local Government
• Rules & Executive Nominations
• Transportation
• Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness
Senator Bartolotta brings an entrepreneurial spirit and a wealth of real-world experience to her job
representing residents of Beaver, Greene and Washington counties. A longtime resident of Monongahela,
she was elected to her first term representing the 46th Senatorial District in 2014 and was re-elected in
2018. She currently serves as part of the Senate Republican Leadership team as Majority Caucus
Administrator.
During her time in the Senate, Camera has authored many new laws, including measures to help judges
keep the most dangerous domestic violence offenders behind bars; relocate victims of domestic violence
who live in public housing; improve the availability of job training programs throughout the state; provide
additional resources to support fire and EMS companies impacted by COVID-19; protect Pennsylvania’s
fresh water supplies by ensuring the safe use of treated mine water in oil and gas operations; authorize
the operation of Transportation Network Companies like Uber and Lyft in all 67 counties; strengthen
penalties for motorists who injure workers and emergency responders in construction zones; and
strengthen and improve the state’s School Bus Stop Arm Camera Law. She also introduced a proposed
amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution to limit the future growth in state government spending and
protect taxpayers.
Camera also led efforts in the Senate to help more Pennsylvanians benefit from the state’s Clean Slate law
and allow homeless individuals to receive free photo identification – breaking down major barriers to
employment and financial independence.
In the Senate, Camera’s committee assignments reflect the main concerns of the communities she
represents, including the need for quality, family-sustaining jobs and smaller government. She currently
serves as Chair of the Senate Labor and Industry Committee, which is responsible for considering a wide
range of issues pertaining to both employers and employees, including Worker’s Compensation,
Unemployment Compensation, workplace safety, building codes and workforce development. In this
capacity, she led the Senate’s efforts to hold the Wolf Administration accountable for flaws in the state’s
Unemployment Compensation system that led to delayed payments to hundreds of thousands of
Pennsylvanians during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Camera also co-chairs the Senate Gas and Oil Caucus, a bipartisan legislative body that focuses on issues
impacting the gas and oil industry with the goal of promoting policies resulting in a positive future for
constituents, the business community and state economy. She also co-founded the bipartisan Criminal
Justice Reform Caucus to focus on ways to help promote safer communities, reduce prison costs, reduce
recidivism and ensure better outcomes for individuals who are part of the criminal justice system. In
addition, utilizing her experience as an actor, director and producer, she founded the Film Industry Caucus,
a bicameral group working to support research and analysis of the role that Pennsylvania’s film industry
plays in economic development, job creation and revenue enhancement.
Prior to being elected to the Senate, she opened the first quick-lube business in the Mon Valley, Duke of
Oil, which provided quality, affordable service from 1988 to 2019. She produced “La Dolce Vita,” a cooking
and lifestyle show that aired on WPXI-TV and PCNC.
Camera is an active member of the community she has called home for more than three decades. She is a
Rotarian, a member of her local Elks Club and several chambers of commerce. She was appointed to the
PA Commission for Women and the Workforce Development board by Governor Wolf. She also serves on
the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Pittsburgh Film Office Board of Trustees, the
Pittsburgh Ballet Board of Trustees, the University of Pittsburgh Institute of Politics Board of Fellows, and
the Pennsylvania Prison Society Board.
Family is a great source of pride in Camera’s life and motivates her civic engagement. Her daughter, Devin,
is an award-winning news reporter and anchor in New Orleans. Her son, Dante, is a United States Marine
reservist.

includes parts of Allegheny and Washington counties in southwestern Pennsylvania, including Bethel Park, Jefferson
Hills, Mount Lebanon, Peters, Pleasant Hills, South Park, and Upper St. Clair.

# America’s Rifle Challenge
ARC CLINIC & BASIC MATCH 2021
This article’s purpose is to share a better understanding of what the America’s Rifle Challenge Program
(ARC) is about – both in words and pictures.
Purpose: lets owners of America’s most popular new rifle platform
develop and showcase their AR skills. The AR Challenge offers opportunities
to learn, further develop, or even test out your skills in competition.
Safety: NRA Certified Range Safety Officers are there to insure the
safe operation for all ARC events.
Instruction: Basic shooting skills are demonstrated, dry fire practiced, and then applied in a live fire
mode. Match protocols are introduced via a competition model with all participants progressing at a
comfortable pace. This Clinic & Basic Match is the first step in a journey to develop more advanced skills,
confidence with their AR, and a greater appreciation of the shooting sports.
New Skills & New Thrills: All ARC events are designed around defensive shooting skills. This Action
Shooting Program provides many different flavors to a diverse shooting menu: paper, steel, and motion
targets placed at distances from 7 yards out to 100 yards and includes multiple reloads and the use of
barricade structures.
Competition and Camaraderie: DMSC is just a great place for like-minded members to get
together and enjoy the shooting sports. Club members have taken the time to attend NRA Training
Classes and become Instructors and Certified Range Safety Officers to both instruct and safely conduct
shooting events. The ARC atmosphere contains good times, challenging opportunities, and some just
plain FUN! (Oh Yeah – donuts only add to this mix ).
Special Thanks to RSO and Club Member Rick Cadotte for providing these great pictures!

membership checks and safety reviews. RSOs will
meet with members and guests while at the firing range. Membership ID’s will be checked, and a copy
of the range rules will be made available. It is
important for all members to review safe gun handling procedures and to focus on the safety rules
for each range used. The RSOs will be a wearing a distinctive safety vest or hat and will only ask for a
few minutes of your time. Guests and Visitors are
