Join us on Facebook and Twitter his year we celebrated National Nurses Week, with a Rock N’ Roll theme! We celebrated the dedication and hard work of our nurses for an entire week. Monday was started with baby photos of the nurses for staff to guess which picture belonged to which nurse. Later that day, we honored our nurses with a taco bar that included all the fixings for an amazing taco lunch! What could be better, the day after Cinco De Mayo, right? It was all fun and games after that with a dose of Name That Rock n’ Roll Tune. Every day was filled with something new and exciting to show just a portion of how much we love and appreciate our PV Nurses. Our Nurses Rock! Shana Says: A MESSAGE FROM OUR ADMINISTRATORFinally, spring is here! The sun is shining and the birds are chirping! I want to extend my sincerest appreciation to all of our staff for your dedication during this winter season. Thanks to your hard work and devotion, we were safely able to care for our residents during some difficult winter days.

Now that the sun is beginning to shine, I encourage you all to take a moment to reflect on the everyday wonders of life. So often we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our day and forget to take a moment to appreciate the things we so easily take for granted. Enjoying a hot meal in the comforts of your own home, with family or a good friend, seems simple to many of us. There are so many people right now who would give anything to simply be in their own home. As we take this moment to reflect, let’s think about the ways we can make life easier, happier, or simpler, for someone else. Sometimes all it takes is a smile or a friendly compliment to make a difference in the life of someone having a not so good day.

Consider volunteering with an organization where you can positively impact the lives of many. Mail a greeting card just to say hello. Say “I love you” before ending a conversation. There are many missed opportunities at chances to make life better. Don’t miss your opportunity. — Shana Espinoza, MSN, RN, LNHA

Our nurses at Pleasant View want to be sure they can give you the best of their time and attention when you call to check in on your loved one. If you want to call for an update, the best time to speak with them is between 1-4 pm. Of course, you are welcome to call anytime you have questions and concerns or just want an update. Our nurses are happy to answer all your questions whenever you have them!

I am very pleased with Pleasant View and the staff

here. It is the exact opposite of the stereotypes you

hear about nursing homes on TV or in the news. There

is mutual respect for the residents, no matter the age

or disability. From what I have witnessed, even when

a resident is upset or confused, the staff remains calm

and respectful.

When I look back on where I was a month ago, to where

I am now, I would not have made it if it wasn’t for the

nursing staff, the aids, and the therapy staff – even the

crazy social workers. They were all my cheerleaders.

Yes, I put in the work, but they were who gave me

the push to get me to where I am now.

Thank you all, Randall Rawlins

n honor of National Nurses Week 2019, staff voted to elect three nurses all of which would be honored and

formally recognized.

Melissa Beattie was honored as Most Revered Nurse of the Year. Patrick Demello was recognized as First Honorable Mention and Krista McTaggart as Second Honorable Mention of the Year. This was a challenging task because each of our nurses has unique talents that they bring to our PV team. We want all of our PV nurses to know that we appreciate them and the expertise they bring to our Pleasant View family. To every Nurse, thank you for all that you do! #NationalNursesWeek2019
