Senior Pipeline Tidings... By: Maurine LeCocq, Senior Center Journalist
Stop! Turn this page back over to the front page. Take a minute and look at the
picture that highlights an activity in the Senior Center that we all enjoyed last
summer and can look forward to this coming
summer. That’s right, it’s time for the Ice Cream Social and to kick off Frozen Friday! Have you ever wondered who takes all
the pictures that we see in our monthly Senior Pipeline? Michelle Varley is
responsible for putting the Senior Pipeline
together, and we have all seen her wandering around the center with a camera
to her face taking pictures of various functions and activities. Several other folks
around the Senior Center can also be seen photographing events and activities. Laura
Gore, who is the Senior Secretary, can be seen taking pictures. Linda Provence, our
Assistant Activities Coordinator, has also taken some pictures. We have several members who regularly volunteer to take pictures which we
see in the Senior Pipeline as well as on the screen in the lobby and in other city
publications. Kim and Randy Bouse and Terry Maughan are always out and about the
center catching our members being busy. Randy Foster has a personal blog at
www.stardustbyrandy.blogspot.com/. He also posts things about the Senior Center and
other City of Hurst events. Cecil Kearney created a blog at http://www.hsc-
pix.blogspot.com/ and Faith Waligora posts pictures and comments about what is going
on at the Senior Center. Check out these
blogs as well as the City of Hurst website. They are awesome. Kudos to our wonderful staff and
volunteer photographers. You are doing a spectacular job! We appreciate all of you
and the time you give to the Senior Center.
