SOLAR POWER – THE ESKOM SOP PROCESS

June 2012 Eskom initiated the Standard Offer Program in the light of the current Electricity shortage

Solar technology has been around since the 1970’sAnd proved itself to the point that Eskom is “investing “into your project to

raise their annual output

Herewith some basic info; So we can help you join the program and get your rebate for your Solar PV

system.

We’re here to assist...

How it worksWe conduct an electrical audit on your current load profile

This will establish a usage baseline

This will show Eskom what is your current load profile and what saving you will generate

Page 5: June 2012 Eskom initiated the Standard Offer Program in the light of the current Electricity shortage Solar technology has been around since the 1970s.

Case exampleClient A installs a 12kW system made up of 3 x 4kW systems(for

3 phase )3 x 4kW inverters functioning at 97% euro efficiency

will deliver 75kWh of power per day

However the rebate only applies to the “saving” and not to extra power fed into the grid. A typical saving – depending on your load profile

and times of high usage – will put your “savings figure at around 60kWh saved* per day.

60kWh x 5(weekdays) x 52(weeks) x 3(years) x R1-20(rebate value)= R56,000 rebate*

*each site is unique and savings will differ according to load profile

The Payoff

Not only do you save the energy you now don’t have to buy from Eskom;

But you’ve fixed your energy price

Eskom can now double its energy price, it won’t matter. because you now supply a portion or all of your energy yourself

(depending on the size of your system)

PLUS

You get a rebate for the energy you save Eskom!

Making your cost per kWh – even with purchasing a whole solar system -Cheaper than the current Eskom rate per kWh!

You literally just change the beneficiary from Eskom to your own Solar system!

EfficiencyThis is what it all boils down to;

Just by changing old habits your money now starts working for you and you have a real investment

With real returns
