Minutes: A motion was made and seconded to approve the April minutes. Motion passed.

New Members and Guests: New member announced; Toni Clinton, City of Tallahassee

Job Opportunities: No new job opportunities were announced.

President: President Smith informed the Chapter that Ed Valla is now employed with Department of State so there was not a need to votefor a board member seat. Tim Ellinor was unopposed, elected unanimously by voice vote and sworn in, to serve as the new Vice Presidentat 1:00 pm for the remainder of the year.

Introduction of Speaker: Vice President Robert Threewitts introduced Karin B. Stanford, Museum Program Supervisor at Mission San Luis.Ms. Stanford was very informative of all the events that are held at the museum along with the history where Apalachee Indians andnewcomers from Spain lived in close proximity drawn together by religion as well as military and economic purpose. Saturday afterThanksgiving is the largest event exploring 17th-century food traditions.

Monthly Drawing: Richlyn White, FDLE was the winner of the free lunch.

MAY MINUTES BOARD MEETING

Date: May 17, 2011

Members Present: Donna Smith, President; Tim Ellinor, Vice President; Mark Lovell, Treasurer; Susan Barr, Secretary; Wendi Sellers,Immediate Past President; Robert Threewitts, Immediate Past Vice President; Board Members - Brenda Wells, Charles Day, and BillSpencer, Gloria Dixon; David Bennett, Trade Show Chair; Jessie Moseley, Newsletter Editor; Claudia Cooper.

President Donna Smith called the meeting to order at 3:37 PM.

Old Business:Trade Show Budget Discussion, Booth Prices; David Bennett suggested going back to re-address the budget. $29,000 was tentativelyapproved for the Trade Show (TS). Treasurer Lovell stated that last year was approximately $44,700 and split up for the Reverse TradeShow (RTS), $8,000 with parking and coffee costs. The break even point was discussed as having 56 vendors with no sponsorship. Withsponsorship, we still make money. The goal is to target 100 vendors or more and have a full fledged show. Past President Sellers suggestedmake sure to address the luncheon with no parking since it is on a regular meeting day and we do not pay for parking on luncheon days. Itshould be negotiated. The TS committee is targeting FAPPO vendors and some have committed. Brenda is heading up a MarketingCommittee. Treasurer Lovell motioned to revert to the budget figures in 2010, $44,700 for the TS and Charles Day seconded it. TreasurerLovell stated that we have an operating budget from the RTS of $14,000. David Bennett suggested increasing visibility; such as inviting theDMS Secretary. Robert suggested matching the 120 vendors from 2008 against last years 56 and target who has not attended the TSrecently. David Bennett would like to negotiate on some of the categories in the budget as his committee determines the need, but not toexceed $44,700. Motion was made to increase the budget from $29073 to $44,700. The motioned was seconded and all were in favor.The motioned passed unanimously.David Bennett proposed that what we do on that day revolve and relate to the trade show. Morning session – vendors and governmentemployees can interact. He would like the latitude to coordinate and plan the event with his committee and respectfully requested todedicate the day to the committee. A motion was made to give the Trade Show Committee latitude to plan and arrange the eventsremaining within the budget. The motion seconded and passed. The decorator contract was signed last year.

New Business:Committee Reports:

Scholarship: The board will need to determine if the Hittinger Scholarship for this year has been voted on for the amount of money to beawarded. Last years board meeting notes were reviewed and no motion was presented.
