Most employers know that California wage orders regulatehow they must pay employees, including overtime and show-up pay. But most employers dont know that the wage orderscreate other requirements such as making chairs available, keeping clocks in the workplace, and maintaining minimumrestroom temperatures.
California courts recently approved penalty claims for almostevery violation of state wage orders leading to many new
class and representative lawsuits for common issues suchas not having stools available at cash registers.
This presentation will discuss recent developments andcommon wage order requirements applicable to mostemployers. We will help employers avoid this spate of lawsuitsby following a simple rule: know your wage order!
Where Can You Always Get HR Compliance Information?Check out the Compliance & Products section of the Chamber Store at napachamber.com. This is where youll nd theHR Handbook for California, Posters, and the California Labor Digest at the LOWEST prices! Napa Chamber membersmay receive all of their required compliance products at greatly reduced rates. Contact Lynn Page at 707.254.1145 or visit
