Paul’s Conversion • Acts 9:1-20 Memory Verse: “These are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ,

the Son of God.” John 20:31, NLV Key Question: Who can believe in Jesus? Bottom Line: I can believe in Jesus. Basic Truth: Jesus wants to be my friend forever. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS (for after the video): Jesus is God’s son. He came to teach us to love others and be our friend forever. The man in the story didn’t believe in Jesus - do you remember that man’s name? Paul Paul believed people had to follow a LOT of rules to follow God. Jesus teaches that there is just ONE rule: to love each other the way that He loves us. Who wants us to love each other? Jesus Paul not only didn’t believe in Jesus, he started being mean to people who followed Jesus! Can you show me your best mean face? On his way to be mean to more people who believed in Jesus, Paul saw a bright light and heard someone talking to him. Who was talking to Paul? Jesus Jesus asked Paul why he was doing mean things, and told him to go to a house and wait. Paul couldn’t see because of the bright light, and needed help. Even though Paul had been mean, Jesus’ friends helped him because Jesus wants us to love each other. Who wants us to love each other? Jesus After a few days, Paul could see again. He believed in Jesus now, and wrote about everything that happened to him because he wanted us to know that we can believe in Jesus, too. Who can believe in Jesus? I can believe in Jesus! Let’s pray: Dear God, thank You for sending Jesus to be our friend forever.

I pray we will all believe in Jesus and follow Him so we can love people the way Jesus loves people. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.

What you Need: • “Match” activity page – 2 copies (best printed on thicker paper) • Crayons or markers • Scissors What you do: Have your child color and cut out both sets of emoji faces. You will have a total of eight cards. The cards are: happy face, sad face, angry face, and heart eyes face. Place the cards face down and have your child turn over one card so that everyone can see it. Have them turn over a second card to see if it matches. If it matches, identify the emotion on the card and set it aside. If it does not match, simply turn the cards back over in the original spot, and encourage them to remember which emotion that card showed. Take turns until all cards are matched.
