Remember the scene from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" where Indiana Jones is shown a watch by another archeologist? He says "this is a cheap watch, but you bury it for 100 years and it's worth thousands of dollars."

Isn't it interesting how things that are common to us can become extremely valuable, even priceless, if they have been owned by someone who is powerful, wealthy, or famous. For instance, Napoleon's toothbrush sold at auction for $21,000, Hitler's car went for over $150,000, a string of fake pearls that once belonged to Jackie Kennedy Onassis went for $211,500 and JFK's golf clubs sold for $772,500. Recently, there was an article about a Rickenbacker 425 guitar once owned and played by Beatle, George Harrison, is up for auction and could bring between $400,000 to $600,000. There is also a Beatles album entitled, "Beatles 65" where the front cover has each member of the groups autograph which is set to be auctioned in a rock memorabilia sale at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York on May 17. This album could bring well up to $300,000. All of these items are on sale for such a high asking price because they once belonged to someone famous or significant. Well, you know what? We fit that bill as well. Think of the value of something that has been created and owned by God. Think of the incredible worth that places on every living human being. We belong to Him. Think of what that makes us worth. And it also should motivate us to reach people with that life changing relationship they can have with Jesus. People are worth so much to Jesus that He has given His life for all of us. And understanding the value of people in God's sight ought to encourage us to be willing to share His good news. The big question we all face is simply, are you? Sunday worship has been great the past several weeks. We are seeing more new faces and this is so exciting. We'll be looking forward to seeing you this Sunday. Love,

GaryGaryGaryGary

If you would like to help

provide snacks for VBS please

see the display board in the

foyer. If you have already

selected a snack from the
