Charles Benaroya is the Principal Trombone of the Can-adian Opera Company Orchestra. Previously, he has held the position of Second Trombone with the Orches-tre Symphonique de Québec. As one of Canada`s most in demand trombonists, Charles has performed with many of the country`s best musical ensembles, includ-ing the Montreal and Toronto Symphony Orchestras, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Symphony Nova Scotia, the orchestra of the National Ballet of Canada, the Hannaford Street Silver Band, and Capital Brass Works. Recently, Charles has made solo appearances in Toronto, Montreal, and Oakville. Later this summer, he will be joining the Canadian National Brass Project, a chamber group consisting of Canada’s elite brass artists. He can be heard on the Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s

recording of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherezade and the Orchestre symphonique de Québec`s recording of Mendelssohn`s Reformation Symphony. He is also a founding member of the Reverb Brass Quintet, a group dedicated to broadening the brass quintet repertoire by commissioning and performing new Canadian and international works. Charles graduated received a Bachelor of Music Degree from McGill University and also studied at The Glenn Gould School of The Royal Con-servatory of Music in Toronto. He studied trombone with Trevor Dix, James Box, David Martin, and Gordon Wolfe.
