A Father’s Day��

Every year about this time my wife and children ask me what I want for Father’s Day. As I have gotten older, what I cherish most is time with family. Don’t get me wrong, homemade gifts are great! It means they took time to think about you and create something from their heart. But spending time with each other is a memory that can never be taken away. It gives you an opportunity to find out what’s happening in each other’s family, talk through problems, share joy and sorrow, and simply be a part of each other’s lives. ��

All of us have busy schedules. And sometimes the easiest thing to do is rush out and buy something (or order it online), put a card with it and call it a day. It shows that we remember someone, but what does it really say? I am reminded of the song by Jim Croce � Cats in the Cradle, where a father is busy and does not have time for his son. Eventually the son grows into a man and emulates his behavior and does not have time for his dad. How sad. ��

How about this Father’s Day we turn off the cell phones, put away the computers and the TV’s and take a walk and talk with our family. Fellow dad’s, let’s give our children something to emulate and in the words of Jim Croce ��“we’ll have a good time then”.��

Hope Center Clothing Shop�Help out from 9�11:30 am at the Hope Center Clothing Shop in Waukesha on Sat., July 21.� We will be sorting and hanging clothes and assisting those in need to find clothes.� For families with children in the 5th grade and up.� The Hope Center helps prevent homelessness by providing meals, clothing and furniture to those in need in Waukesha County.� Pope Francis tells us, “To change the world, we must be good to those who can-not repay us.” Please sign up online.�

Volunteers are needed to help deliver produce collected from the parish community garden to the Pewaukee Food Pantry on Saturday mornings from June � September. �

LAPTOPS for the Peru Trade School � Padre Joe has asked if we could send some laptops down on the container we are shipping in August. ��

If you have one in good working order that you do not need just drop it off in the parish office by August 5th.��

We are prayerfully hopeful of shipping a Pick�up Truck on the container as well since the couple they have down there are wearing out. If we are successful in accomplishing this we will ONLY be able to take Family to Family bins, car seats for the Physical Therapy clinic and possibly clothing which will be put into plastic bags and used to stuff the open spaces. ��

Our parish is beginning a Centering Prayer Group that will meet each Tuesday evening from 6�7PM in the Chapel. We will start on Tuesday, June 19. Centering Prayer is a form of Contemplative Prayer that is as old as our Christian tradition. As Jesus taught us… “But when you pray, go into your inner room, close the door and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.” ��
