Greetings and happy Sunday! Today we celebrate The Solemnity of

the Most Holy Trinity. The Holy Trinity, you know, the Father, Son and

Holy Spirit. We all pray the sign of the cross several times during the

Mass, as well as numerous other times in our day. We profess we be-

lieve in the Holy Trinity in our creed. But do we really know what we

are professing? Some of us were taught to memorize something like,

“By the Blessed Trinity we mean, one and the same God in three Di-

vine Persons.” (Baltimore Catechism, lesson 3, question 29.) The Cat-

echism of the Catholic Church states, “The mystery of the Most Holy

Trinity is the central mystery of the Christin faith and of Christian life.

God alone can make it known to us by revealing himself as Father,

Son and Hoy Spirit.” (Paragraph 261) But geez, without further expla-

nation, or discussion, do we understand those? Trying to discuss its

full meaning would take far more space than I have, and I would fall

considerably short. But I do encourage you to do some reading, some

praying and some listening. Take a look at your understanding of our

God, Three distinct persons in One God, and then think about your

relationship with each. What can you do to strengthen it? How can you

become closer to our Creator, our Savior and our Sanctifier? I’ve

heard it said that Spirit is the Love that is constantly transmitted be-

tween the Father and the Son. I like to think of it this way. Have a

wonderful week.

God’s blessings to you!

Melissa

Dear Parishioners,

Remember next Sunday June 18th is our annual Corpus Christi Eucharistic procession starting

at the grotto. There will be one mass, at 11am, combining the 10, 11;30 and 1;15pm masses.

We will make our traditional stops at five stations around the neighborhood. Come and wor-

ship the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. This is one of our most treasured parish traditions,

spanning the decades.

Have a great week!

St. Anthony Weekly Calendar June 12th to June 18th,

Prayer for Healing

Dear St. Anthony, you loved God so much

when you lived upon the earth. You were

known, even then, as a great Wonder-worker,

so great did His power live in you. Now that

you are in heaven, you share in God's glory

and in His power in a more perfect way.

Look on me with kindness as I come to you

in my need. I pray for healing for myself and

for those whom I love. Amen.
