1. Service Information

Our responsibility is also to ensure places are given using the Federal Government’s Priority Of Access Guidelines. Our service takes children into care on the following basis:

Priority 1: A child at a risk of serious abuse or neglect.

Priority 2: A child of a single parent who satisfies, or parents who both satisfy, the work/training/study test under Section 14 of the Family Assistance Act.

Priority 3: Every other child.

Hi, and welcome to our OOSH Service. Our Vacation Care Service is available to children 5 – 12 years who are enrolled In Primary School.

Bookings are essential as places are limited. There are a number of ways to book into our service, please call Jules 0408 024327 for details.

Hours of Operation: 6:30am – 6:00pm

Full Cost: $59 per day | Add: Excursion/Incursion Fees

Maximum Enrolments Per Day: 80

Food: Families are invitied to bring their own healthy lunches for children as well as morning and afternoon tea (see our what to bring list). Important: Insubstantial/unhealthy lunchbox/drinks will be replaced and a fee charged.

NEW CANTEEN SERVICE: A new canteen service is now available to Vacation Care Families. See Page 8 of the booking form for more details.

Reduction in Fees: CCB/CCR is available to eligible families. Please contact Family Assistance Office (FAO) on 136 150 to be assessed.

3. Refund and Cancellation PolicyOnce a booking is made there will be no refunds given unless 2 weeks notice is given.

Please notify the service if your child is absent on a day that they are booked in. Note: If your child is absent from the service a medical certificate must be provided to explain absences. The service needs to record the amount of allowable and approved absences your child is entitled under Child Care Benefit legislation.

All children must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian and visual contact made with a member of staff.

Strictly 6pm is the latest collection time. Late pickup fees of $20.00 every 15 minutes will be charged.

Most of our planned activities will start at 9.15am and your child/ren need to be signed in before then. Our excursions generally return to Jumbos by 2pm. The day’s risk assessment will have a more accurate depart and leave time.

6. Valuables We are unable to take responsibility, or secure valuables (including toys, iPods, iPads, mobile phones and any electronic games etc). Please do NOT bring these to our OOSH Centre unless an electronics day activity is planned.

7. Risk Assessments Risk assessments have been conducted on all excursions, incursions and certain activities. The Assessment contains: staff ratios, contact numbers, transport, proposed activities and timetables. Families can access these during drop/off pick ups. If you can’t find them, ask us please !

8. What To Bring Please ensure your child/ren is dressed appropriately in accordance with the guidelines below:

SuNBLOCK your child/ren before arriving, and pack it in their bag to reapply later

HAT must be packed everyday. (Note: a $3 laundry fee will be charged should your child not bring a hat)

Wear closed in and COMFORTABLE FOOTWEAR and shoulder/back covering shirts (NO SINGLETS)

SOCKS must be work when playing on Jumbos’ equipment. (Note: A $3.50 fee will be charged should new socks be issued to your child/ren).

Girls please wear SHORTS/SKORTS for your comfort (skirts are inappropriate when on Jumbos slides).

During our water play days; pack SWIMMERS (no bikinis), RASH SHIRT and TOWEL (plastic bag too)

Pack a NuTRITIONAL morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, unless stated otherwise. Refer to http://www.healthykids.nsw.gov.au/ website for ideas. We aim to be a nut free centre. Please remember physical activity increases appetites !! Ensure your child/ren has sufficient food. We also offer a canteen service, please see our website for more details.

Pack a refillable DRINK BOTTLE. You will be charged $3 if a drink bottle if a water bottle is supplied to your child.

Any MEDICATION that comes into our centre must be in its original packaging, labelled with your child’s name and dosage information. A medical form must be completed with a team member and this can be completed on sign in.

NB. Please use these guidelines. You may be asked to collect your child from the centre or to provide appropriate clothing should we deem your child dressed inappropriately.

9. Integrating Jumbos OOSH and Jumbos Playland Q. We often get asked, “How does it work between OOSH and Jumbos Playland?. Does OOSH mix with the general public”? In most instances, the answer is NO. Jumbos Playland trading hours is 10am-3pm. During such time the OOSH Service operates from: (a) outside playgrounds; (b) upstairs; or (c) on excursions. The OOSH Service uses Jumbos Playland before 10am and after 3pm. However, there may be such occasions during quieter times that the OOSH service will share the Playland. Refer to Risk Assessments and Permission Slips for more information.
