Given recent reports of missing children and adolescents, more
than 40 organizations gathered to call on the authorities responsi-

“Orange Day”: take action to end violence against women and girls
Young people of the Global Youth Network UNiTE want to proclaim the 25th of each month, beginning with the 25th of July until the
57th Session of the CSW, as “Orange Day”, a day to take action. They ask everyone- men, women, boys, girls, the young and the old-
that on the 25th of every month they join in this initiative to end violence against women and girls.
In May 2012, the Secretary General’s Campaign UNiTE to end violence against women created the Global Youth Network UNiTE and
this is its first action.
Colleagues from various countries such as Bolivia, Honduras and Barbados have joined this initia-
tive by wearing orange clothes and orange and blue ribbons, as a symbol that the Campaign has
assigned to this initiative. The Secretariat of the Campaign will promote a series of activities to be
carried out every 25th day, starting on August 25th and ending on February 25, 2013. Read more…
