Parish Office : Open Monday through Friday From 9:00am to 4:30pm
The mission of St. Joseph’s Church is to be a welcoming, caring, Christ-centered Catholic community. We desire to
experience and share God’s unconditional love. Inspired by the example of Jesus, we strive to lead all people to
wholeness and fullness of life.
The Sacrament of Marriage is celebrated after a period of preparation of no less than six months. Those who wish to marry at St. Joseph’s are invited to contact one of the priests during regular weekday office hours before making any other arrangements. The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated, on the first and third Sundays of the month at 1:30pm. Please call the Parish Office to schedule an appointment with one of the priests. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is available at any time to any Catholic over the age of reason who is seriously ill, preparing for surgery or suffering the effects of age. The priests of the parish regularly celebrate the Eucharist and administer the sacrament of the sick at the area nursing homes; lay ministers lead services and bring communion to the residents every Sunday.

Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament is not something that is new. It is a Catholic practice which is centuries-old. The practice affirms the central teaching of the Catholic Church with regard to the Holy Eu-charist- Jesus Christ is truly-substantially present in the Holy Eucharist.
In about the 4th century monasteries began to reserve the Eucharist and by the 11th century the reservation of the Blessed Sacrament- mainly for the sick and dying was reserved in our Catholic Church’s. At this time Eucharistic Devotion became popular. Out of this came Adoration and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sac-rament.
Adoration until this day keeps us connected to the community’s celebration of the Most Holy Eucharist. We have had the practice of Adoration and Benediction for many years here at St. Joseph’s. While this prac-tice has proven to be an important part of our devotion, we would like to see more people participate in this most beautiful devotion.
Attached is a signup sheet for people to make a commitment to a particular time each First and Third Thurs-days, September through June. As you know, Holy Thursday is the day that Jesus gave us the Holy Eucharist at the Last Supper. So it is very appropriate for us to adore our Eucharistic Lord on this day. The times will be consistent. If a funeral is scheduled during these times, we will still keep the Blessed Sacrament Exposed in the Chapel. You can sign up for a specific time and make that commitment each month. We would like to have at least 4 people signed up for each of the times so that if someone cannot fulfill their commitment be-cause of illness or something else we still have enough people for each hour. Of course, if you do not sign up for a particular time you are most welcome to come for a visit at any time. Please fill out the form provided and return it to the parish office or just drop it in the collection boxes. We are looking to put together a list by September 1st.
First & Third Thursdays- September through June- (except for holy days etc.) 9:30am - 4:00pm (concludes with Benediction)
PLEASE FILL OUT THE FORM BELOW AND DROP IN THE COLLEC-
TION BASKET IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GUIDELINES FOR THOSE BECOMING SPONSORS FOR BAPTISM & CONFIRMATION
It is a great honor and privilege to be a sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation. The role of a godparent is a sa-cred duty. You become the “other parent” in the ways of faith. That is why the Church requires sponsors to be practicing Catholics, 16 years of age or older ( 14 years old in the Archdiocese of NY) having received Confirmation and are living a good Christian moral life. If a sponsor is married, that person must be in a valid Catholic marriage. One sponsor is required for Confirmation. Two sponsors are customary for Baptism, in which case one must be a male and the other a female.
If you are to receive a sponsor certificate from one of the parish priests, the individual must be a current pa-rishioner, (you need to be registered at least 6 months for a sponsor certificate to be issued) and known to the priest as being a practicing Catholic, attending Mass regularly. Those persons away at college, graduate school or in the military should seek a certificate from their campus minister or chaplain. It is important for all individuals to be active members of their local Catholic faith communities.
A baptized non- Catholic may replace the 2nd baptism sponsor as a Christian Witness. A Catholic cannot act as a Christian Witness. A non-Christian cannot act as a Christian Witness. Former Catholics may not be a Sponsor.
If you are in need of a sponsor certificate please see one of the priests after any of our weekend Masses.
Just a reminder- that until further notice we have three communion stations for Sunday Mass.
In the Center aisle of the Church the priest - celebrant will distribute Holy Communion on the left side- first- from front to back and then on the right side – from front to back. The side sections of the Church – Holy Communion will be distributed on the right side – from front to back and the on the left side from front to back in these sections. Please follow the directions of the Ushers. When you receive Holy Communion – please step to the side of the priest- remove your mask and then receive the Sacred Host. Please do not walk back to your seat with the Host in your hand. We are asking that if you come to Mass- to wear a mask. We would kindly ask that you wear your mask properly. It should cover both your mouth and your nose.
Welcome to Saint Joseph’s Church Thank you for joining with us as we celebrate the Eucharist. We are happy that you gather with us today, especially if you are visiting. Our prayer is that you will find the nourishment for your faith in this beautiful house of God.
