AUG 1 – SEPT 30 To help commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington, BRUCE DAVENPORT, JR., a former New Orleans Biennial, Prospect 2 artist best known for his ink drawings of local marching bands, has come up with a new series based on notable historical American events.

Davenport’s work will be interpreted through visual arts and spoken word, by children enrolled in the Ashe’ Community Arts Center’s summer program, Kuumba institute.

The Legal Marketing Association (“LMA”) inducted Kim A. Perret, Chief Marketing Officer of Jones Walker LLP, into the LMA Hall of Fame at the LMA Annual Conference in Las Vegas in April 2013. The LMA Hall of Fame Award celebrates individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the Legal Marketing Association and the legal marketing

industry and represents the highest levels of experience and leadership in legal marketing.

As a member of Jones Walker’s executive management team, Kim is responsible for directing the firm’s overall business development, client service, marketing communications, and marketing technology initiatives. Kim has been involved in LMA for many years as both a member and a leader. in 2001, she was elected to two successive terms as president of the LMA Capital Chapter, significantly increasing its membership and visibility. She was the sole inductee to the chapter’s 2012 Hall of Fame Class. in 2006, she was elected president of the international LMA. in addition to her involvement with LMA, Kim is also involved in a number of community groups that include The Pro Bono Project, an organization of lawyers, law firm leaders, educators, and consultants providing free legal services to the poor in New Orleans.

After three years of service as New Orleans City Attorney, Richard Cortizas has rejoined Jones Walker. Richard will practice as special counsel in the firm’s Business & Commercial Transactions Practice Group in the New Orleans office. “We are thrilled to have Richard return to Jones Walker. His legal reputation and experience overseeing economic development projects make him an invaluable asset to our firm and clients,” said Managing Partner William H. Hines. As City Attorney, Richard was responsible for directing and supervising legal affairs for the City of New Orleans and was part of the team that negotiated the New Orleans Police Department consent decrees. Jones Walker LLP expands to Cincinnati with new multi-family finance team. Three partners and one special counsel, all formerly of Peck Shaffer & Williams LLP, have joined Jones Walker LLP, anchoring the firm’s new office. Leading the team is John Weld Peck, who has been in the forefront of affordable housing finance in the United States for the past 40 years. He participated in the legislative hearings that gave birth to the Section 8 program in the 1970s, helped write the original Section 8 financing regulations, and has helped develop innovative tax-exempt multifamily housing finance vehicles since that time. Joining Mr. Peck at Jones Walker are partners Alysse Hollis and Ronald Bell, and special counsel Robert Bruns. On April 23, the GE Capital Technology Center, located on the 30th floor of Place St. Charles, held its official grand opening celebration. Governor Bobby Jindal and Mayor Mitch Landrieu joined approximately 80 GE Capital employees to celebrate the Center’s success and, reiterate their support for GE’s investment in New Orleans and commitment to jobs growth in Louisiana.

Brackett Denniston, GE Vice President and General Counsel and Martha Poulter, Vice President and GE Capital Chief information Officer reaffirmed they had made the right decision to establish the Technology Center in a state committed to GE’s growth and the growth of the technology industry as a whole.

Since moving to the city in 2012, GE Capital has created 100 iT professional jobs and will be bringing more dynamic iT talent to downtown New Orleans. By the end of the year, the Center hopes to employ 150 iT professionals specializing in engineering and software development. By 2015, GE Capital plans to produce a total of 300 jobs that will support the company’s continued growth as a leader in New Orleans’ growing technology sector.

Phase one of the Technology Center, encompassing 24,000 square feet of workspace, is open and operating on the 30th floor. The next 20,000 square feet are currently underway on floors 32 and 33 and should come online by the end of October 2013. By 2015, the company plans to occupy a total of 70,000 square feet of space on four separate floors featuring state-of-the-art equipment, collaborative workspaces and breathtaking views of New Or-
