School Principal’s Blog. We have ended another school year at L.A.C.A and are incredibly pleased

with the results and success of the school year. On Sunday June 26th, we had a symbolic, non-traditional yet ceremoniously beautiful service to celebrate the another mile stone at L.A.C.A.

As Pathfinders led the procession for our school, the service was filled with surprises for all of those who came out to support as well as the students. In my principal's speech, I opted out of theoretical rhetoric, and decided to engage our supporters into catching the vision of what each of the L.A.C.A. students represented for our community with the theme that 'it takes a village to raise a child'. Each pupil was placed before the audience and were introduced as the future doctors, pilots, preachers, teachers, scientists that would be taking care of generations to come. People then gathered in small groups around the each student and placed hands on them, praying for blessing and protection for that child's future, for his or hers goals and accomplishments.

The service also highlighted year long accomplishments and improvements from each student, as well as honouring the graduate Michael Golovenko with his certificate of completion from the Ontario Conference.

Michael was also surprised by his peers, with speeches of support and well wishes as well as given ten 'keys' to success. These included incentives like faithfulness to God, perseverance, preparation, creativity, cooperation etc...

He also delivered a charming and witty heartfelt speech about what his time at London Advent Christian Academy and what has taught him and the people who influenced and shaped his ideals and goals.

Our ceremony ended with a balloon send off as the each of the children said a prayer of gratitude for the year, and asked for a blessing for the year to come and then sent off their helium filled balloon with their grade on it into the air. This light and airy feeling of blessing and bliss filled the room with happiness and gratitude and carried our constituents, parents and students into the summer with a joyful send off and affirmation of God's presence and involvement in our little school.

We would like to invite and encourage anyone who is wanting to provide the power and blessing of Christian Education to their child to come and speak to one of the teachers or board members for the 2011/2012 school year. We have lots of fantastic new plans for the academic year and are working hard to build resources for the school, as well as finding a new facility. We are able to sit down with you and discuss financial planning for tuition and go through the application process in the week of August 29th to September 2.

Please continue to keep our school in your prayers and thank you for your on-going support. We really could not do it with you!

May your summer be filled with the things that make Heaven smile.

Sincerely Yours, Patricia Ferreira-Lopez M.A. Principal at the London Advent Christian Academy
