In her book, “Angels Are for Real,” Judith Macnutt shares several inspiring accounts of individuals who have claimed they have received visits from angels during extremely critical times in their lives. One such story is told by Anthony Knighton, whose wife became concerned about her health, following an emergency visit to the ER. Upon returning home, his wife woke up in the middle of the night and her room was filled with a brilliant light. She told him that she saw an angel standing in the middle of her room. Although the angel only stayed for five seconds, when he vanished, she says that she was filled with peace, knowing that God was with her and would continue to be with her throughout her illness. And this is only one of the many stories that fill the pages of her book with encouragement and hope that God is with those who desperately need to be “Touched by an Angel.” In Part II of our series will we learn that although God dispatches these divine messengers to intercede in the lives of His children, there is another powerful force at work that is determined to foil their efforts. - Pr.
