404 - $15,000 USHJA INTERNATIONAL HUNTER DERBY CLASSIC (WEEK 2 ONLY)Open to horses that compete at 3’6” and 3’9”. To be scored by two teams of two judges, entries must fill out formin office for this class to include: breed registry information, sire/dam, and declare which division points are tocount for. Two round format: First round is a Regular Classic Course, to be shown over a minimum of 10 jumps,with the following: at least one in and out, bending line, line with unrelated distance. Ground lines not to exceed 18”-1’. Second Round to be Handy Hunter Course, with at least two of the following: trot jump or in and out, open gatewhile mounted, lead over a jump, tight turn option, clever options for jump approaches, halt and/or back, walk ajump - option jumps to be included to allow for difficulty degree bonus points (20 points maximum can be awarded,10 from each team of judges). There is no limit to the number of horses a rider can ride. Each team of judges willprovide one score and the 2 scores will be combined for the overall total. A jog using FEI format will be heldbefore the beginning of Round 1 and a judge and vet must be present. Formal Attire Required - whitebreeches, shad belly, dark coat, official sponsor or team jacket permitted. Minimum of 12 entries required.

JUMPER DIVISION

NOMINATING FEE $100: All horses showing in the Junior/Amateur Owner, Meter.30, Classics, andChildren’s and Adult Jumper must be nominated and pay the nominating fee of $100 by the closing date of theshow. Once a horse is nominated, the nominating fee is NOT refundable.

(See rules and regulations for additional Jumper nomination information.)

DECLARATIONS

Declarations must be made on the appropriate form in the horse show office the day before the class is to beheld by 4 PM or one hour after the last jumper class, whichever is later. Untimely declarations will be subjectto jump first in the order of go.

TIME ALLOWED

The time allowed is based on a minimum of 382 yards per minute for all sections.COURSES

Courses may consist of any combination of the following; brush, gates, TIES

All ties involving first place shall be jumped off. Ties not involving first place will be decided by time, unlessotherwise stated.

ORDER OF GO

Order of go will be posted one hour prior to the start of the class. 45 SECOND CLOCK

Will be in effect in all jumper classes.POLING

Manual poling is prohibited for all horses on the grounds.

USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENTLife, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at RegularCompetitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitionsat the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmembermay participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions,Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined DrivingCompetitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted fromthe Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5)walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lessonprogram); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed ReiningCompetitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of currentmembership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11)assistant handlers in DressageSport Horse Breeding classes.

1. Every class offered herein which is covered bythe rules and spec i fi ca tions of the current USEF, NCHJA, GHJA, SCHJA, and VHSA rule books will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. The USEF protest fee is $200.00 if made by a member or $300 if made by a non-member

2. All entries must be made on the regular printedform. The word “Entry” will not be accepted.Entry blanks must be complete with allinformation and appropriate areas signedbefore any number is issued.

3. En tries must be received by: July 3rd Stall refundsuntil June 16th ENTRY FEES MUST BE PAID BEFORE NUM BERS WILL BE IS SUED. A late fee of $50 will be charged for each entry receivedafter the closing date of entries.

4. No stalls will be assigned until fees are paid.There are 442 per ma nent stalls, all others will bevinyl temporary stalls with doors.$225.00 each —per show. Stalls will be available Sunday, July23rd for the first week.

5. Horses entered in the show but not stabled on thegrounds will be charged a $50 grounds fee.

6. North Carolina requires a negative “Coggins”certificate, within 12 months of entering orleav ing the state.

7. No initial bedding will be provided. Bagshavings will be available for purchase. Advanceorders may be faxed by calling (828) 295-9869 onthe form provided. Hay and grain will also beavailable. Bills for bedding and feed will be addedto the exhibitor’s horse show account and must bepaid prior to de par ture from the horse showgrounds.

8. A limited number of camper spaces will beavailable at $250 per week. Please makeres er va tions early.

9. All entries in Pony Classes or Junior HunterClasses must present a current Mea sure ment Cardor valid Measurement Form issued by the USEFbefore exhibitor number will be released.Measurement times must be arranged with theSteward and show veterinarian.

10. SCRATCHES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTEDUNDER ANY CON DI TIONS WITHOUT AVET ER I NAR I AN CERTIFICATE FROM THESHOW VETERINARIAN.

11. The telephone number for the showveterinarian will be posted at the horse showof fice.

12. ALL DOGS MUST BE LEASHED AT ALLTIMES IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY.GUARD DOGS MUST BE REGISTEREDWITH THE HORSE SHOW OFFICE. A $100donation for all dogs caught loose in the ringsand hospitality tent.

13. Prize money will be credited to exhibitors’ horseshow accounts. If the amount of prize moneywon exceeds the exhibitor’s account, a checkwill be issued from the show office within 30days after the show.

14. Jumping in the rings is not permitted in themornings. Flat work only. Exhibitors violatingthis rule will be suspended from showing for 24hours from the time of the infraction. Entry feeswill not be refunded.

15. The Horse Show Committee reserves the right to:

a. Refuse any or all entries, return money paid forstalls and entry fees with out ex pla na tion orrecourse to the show for liable com pen sa tion.

b. Require all exhibitors to dress in proper ridingattire, and as appropriate, including pro tec tivehead gear.

c. Combine or cancel classes with insufficiententries.

d. Add to or vary the list of judges or officials.e. To eliminate from further competition or ejectfrom the grounds any ex hib i tor, owner, or otherindividuals for any act of dis cour te sy ordisobedience to judges or officials.

17. In case of horses being entered and not exhibited, the entry fee and/or stable charges WILL NOT be refunded. A charge of $100.00 will be made for any horses stabled and not en tered with the exception of a vet certificate.

16. ALL Non-members of the USEF/USHJA mustpay a show pass fee of $30.00, except for, Leadline, and other exempt classes.

17. Should any question or dispute arise that is notprovided for in the rules, the same shall bereferred to Show Management, whose decisionshall be final.

18. JUMPER DIVISION: Ties for places other thanfirst shall be broken by the time taken during thefirst round.

19. Each horse will be charged a $40.00 service fee. 20. No lunging will be allowed in any ring.21. Exhibitors passes are required for entrance into the grounds during normal show hours. Passes are available in the Horse Show Office.

26. All drivers of ATV’s, golf carts, andmotorcycles must be licensed drivers.

27. In order to compete, horses may not be poledand/or offsets used anytime while on the showgrounds both before or during the show.

28. Secure, offsite parking for vans and trailers willbe provided and required due to spacelimitations at the grounds. No exceptions.Those in violation will be fined $100, whichwill be given to the show beneficiary.

29. PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR: Except as may otherwise be mandated by local law, all exhibitors in Hunter, Jumper and Hunter Seat Equitation sections must wear properly fitting protective headgear passing or surpassing current applicable ASTM (Ameri can Society forTesting & Materials) / SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards with harness secured while riding anywhere on the competition grounds. Harness must be secured and properly fitted. Any rider violat ing this rule at any time must immediately be prohib ited from further riding until such headgear is prop erly in place.

30.1. MINOR EXHIBITORS: Parent(s) or guardian(s) of a minor child shall hold the horse show management and the facility harmless for any injury to such minor. No minor child’s entrywill be accepted or number is sued unless entry is signed by a parent or LEGAL guardian. The signature of unrelated persons WILL NOT be accepted.

30.2. Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate amotorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as

they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.

31. FOOTING: Screenings will be used all areas.Competition rings will be no less than 250' x130'.

32. FARRIER: No farrier other than the official competi tion farrier will be permitted to shoe on the grounds without express permission of the management. Exhibitors wishing to use another farrier must request a permission for that farrier at the Horse Show office.

33. VETERINARIAN: No veterinarian other than the official veterinarian will be permitted to practice on the show grounds. Exhibitors wishing to use their own veterinarian must request a permission for that veterinarian at the horse show office.

34. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS: The legend “US Funds” must be pre-printed on the face of all Canadian checks drawn on Canadian banks usedto pay entry fees.

35. The Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show Foundation, Inc., Progressive Show Jumping, Inc., or any employees of same shall in no way, jointly or individually, be responsible for any loss, accident, damage, or loss of life that may occur to any ex hib i tor, trainer, agent, owner, groom, stable, cor po ra tion, partnership, in di vid u al, or spectator sustained while at the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show. This shall be incorporated as a condition of entry to the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show.

36.Add/Scratch: No slip, No trip. If you are not onthe class sheet, you must add in the show officeand bring the slip to the ingate. If you arescratching, you must also do this in the showoffice and bring your slip to the ingate. No addson Sunday.

37.Horse Show check non-negotiable 30 days after the show closes.

38.Returned check fee $50.00 or 10% of thecheck, whichever is greater.

39. Hunter Prize Money: 1st - 30%, 2nd - 22%, 3rd - 18%, 4th - 15%, 5th - 10%, 6th - 5%
