SAINT GILES – IN COLOUR! In an effort to become even more visible, dynamic and interesting, Saint Giles
is revamping their external look.
Graffiti artist extraordinaire, Shaun Oakley, known as “The Damn Vandal”, has
kindly agreed to modernise our look with the use of bright colours and
relevant funky images that stay in your mind. We were chosen by Shaun, who
works as a senior designer for the Mr Price Group, as his one pro bono mural
for the year. The guard hut is the first of his work of art (pictured) and he will
also be doing the wall that runs along Bell Street and the entrance wall on
Prince Street over his free weekends.
Watch this space for more of his art.
A special “Thank You’” goes out to “The Damn Vandal” for his Artistic
Vandalism of our walls.

RIP SOLWA SULEMAN
Sadly Saint Giles Remedial Gymnasium Patient, Solwa Suleman passed away on Sunday, 1st August 2015. Solly, as he was affectionately known, had been a member of the gym over the past 9 years when he became a certified paraplegic after a near fatal shooting outside his store in 2002 left him paralyzed from the waist down. Solly had been an avid member and supporter of the gym over these many years and although he never attained the full use of his lower limbs again, the availability and accessibility of the gym had seen him through his many ups and downs over the years and continued to aid and assist him with his strength and conditioning. The Saint Giles Family would like to extend their deepest sympathies to Sollyʼs family and friends.
