July is here and with that brings a new council year. 2012 is the 60 year anni- versary for council 3548 and I'm proud to be the Grand Knight for it. We will have different events throughout the year to celebrate this momentous occa- sion, starting with the golf tournament on Friday July 27th at Ocean View Golf Course. Please se the attached flyer or PGK Woody Holmes for sponsorship or to put in a team. Saturday August 25th the officers will host their In Coming / Out Going dinner dance along with a 60th Anniversary party with Music by Tidewater Drive. Tickets will be on sale soon for $20.00 per person or $35.00 per couple. With the summer in full effect the council has decided to stop the monthly breakfast until September 16th. Starting July 1st the Knights Lounge will no longer sell drink chips and all drink chips must be used by September 14th. UPCOMING EVENTS July 7 council picnic 11:30am-3pm July 21st O.V. Seafood Fest August 25th Incoming/ Out going 60th anniversary dinner dance September 2nd Labor day picnic September 15th Monkey Bottom September 16th Breakfast I look forward to working with my newly elected officers and hope that they each get the support they need and deserve. Brothers, As we begin this new council year, our sixtieth, the Grand Knight has de-cided that some changes are necessary involving the newsletter. This deals directly with mailing of our newsletter. As many of you undoubtedly know, the cost of mailing has steadily risen over the past few years. As of our last mail-ing, we were sending out 500 newsletters via postal service. Over the course of a year, mailing these can create significant cost to the council. Technology, however, has given us an opportunity. We have our webpage, www.ovknights.com, which allows us to publish our newsletter digitally. Our intent is to be completely electronic this fall. We understand howev-er that some of the membership do not have the ability to receive the newslet-ter electronically. Next month we will be mailing out a form to all members.
