This has been an exciting week with the sound of children singing praises, repeating “Jesus Loves Me” and just having fun. It has been our Vacation Bible School (VBS) week! Over 180 children attended, supported by 70 volunteers, despite severe thunderstorm warnings all week. I love observing the little children as they interact with one another and see the look on their faces when they discover new information. This week the children had an opportunity to understand that they are loved by Jesus, even if they feel alone, are different, don’t understand, do wrong things or feel afraid. I understand even more fully after this week why Jesus said that we have to be like little children in order to enter into the Kingdom of heaven. Children are so trusting and are willing to be led by the hand anywhere. They are also humble, willing to love unconditionally and forgive freely. I invite you to celebrate with our children on this special VBS Sabbath. - Pr.
