Dear St. Albert Family, The parable of the sower is a beautiful reflection and sermon of Jesus which reveals God's "strategy" for salva-tion. What I mean is the Word of God, the Good News of our salvation is not forced upon anyone. As Pope Benedict famously said, we "PROpose the faith never IMpose it." So the welcome of God's Spirit and salvation has to be a choice of the individual. What the sower reveals is that we can choose to receive God's Word of salvation by preparing the human heart and soul - making ready the way of the Lord into our lives. Through prayer, learning, and service we cultivate the human heart to receive the Lord with generous welcome. This past Thursday we celebrated the formal Ground-breaking for our new Parish Life Center. The Mayor and city officials, our parish leaders, and the tradespeople contributing to this great project were on hand for the ceremonies. We will print a few pictures in next week's bulletin, on our webpage and facebook pages as well. We are celebrating another session of Confessions this Thursday, July 16th, here in the church from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Plans for the expansion of our worship schedule are underway. Our daily Mass schedule will be increased and we hope to add the 9:30am Sunday Mass back to the weekend schedule at the beginning of August. Thank you for your faithful support of the parish, online, by mail and in person as you are able. Thank you for your generous offertory collec-tions that you have maintained over these weeks. Please enjoy these summer days as best you can, con-sidering the important precautions that we should all be taking to keep one another safe and healthy in these uncertain times.

Sacrament of Reconciliation We are hosting an evening of confessions Thursday, July 16th from 6:30-7:30pm. Please join us immediately following our Thursday devotional in the main church. Doors open at 6:30pm, and the doors will close at 7:30pm. Anyone who is inside the church by 7:30pm will have their confession heard. Please be aware that we are asking people to wear face masks inside the Church, and that people will not be able to sit inside the Church during this time, you will be asked to leave imme-diately after your confession. People will be able to go behind a screen or face to face through a Plexiglas screen.

Membership in the Parish Registration to become a parishioner here at St. Albert the Great is on the Second Sunday of the month. This informational meeting is done using ZOOM (video conferencing) at this time. You will meet with the pastor to complete the registration process and learn about our parish life. Sacrament of Baptism: The Sacrament of Baptism for infants will now be celebrated after a Mass. Please call the parish office for Bap-tism registration. Pre-Baptismal class is required for parents having their first child baptized. Baptism class is sched-uled every three months. Please watch the bulletin for dates. Marriages or Sacrament of Matrimony: Please call the parish office no less than six months in advance before the wedding date. Pre-Cana preparation is required. Funerals The parish is pleased to offer assis-tance in this time of need. The Funeral Director or family can contact the par-ish office for further information. Care for the Sick Those weakened by age, afflicted by serious illness or preparing for a seri-ous operation can receive the anointing of the sick. Call the parish office to make an appointment. RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults): Adults who seek to join the church may participate in the RCIA program (held yearly from September-May). Please call the parish office for further information.

Adoration Chapel has Reopened Monday-Friday 9:30am-6:30pm

Our beautiful Adoration Chapel has reopened, Monday-Friday 9:30am - 6:30pm, for personal Adoration of the Real Presence. We ask that you follow the CDC guidelines of tak-ing your temperature before you come, wear a mask and use sanitizer when you first come in and when you leave. There is a maximum of 8 people & chairs adoring with no standing. Any-one can visit to adore using the outside entrance door to the chapel.

Substitute adorers are always appreciated. You can sign up to receive notices when someone requests a substitute, or you can sign up to become a regular weekly adorer. You can do this by going to the parish website, saint-albert.com, go to minis-tries/ adoration chapel schedule/ new adorer enrollment link or call the parish office at 440-237–6760 to leave your infor-mation and someone will get in contact with you. Adoration substitutes and schedules work the same as all liturgical minis-tries, you will be notified by email from the scheduling system.

Many celebrations have been postponed due to Covid19, in-cluding our celebrations of the 15th Year Anniversary of the Adoration Chapel, but you can participate in this beautiful devotion and commemorate the anniversary by attending the chapel to spend some time in prayer and adoration.

We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of Church and prepare individuals to cele-brate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucha-rist during the Easter season. There are separate sessions for children or youth. You are welcome to participate in the pro-cess with your questions, your insights and your faith story in a warm accepting setting. Formation sessions are being offered to those who are interested in becoming a Eucharistic Minister and are a Catholic in good standing (married validly in the Catholic

Church). are living a life in accord with the moral teachings of the Church.

are a fully initiated Catholic (received the sacraments of Baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation).

If you meet these qualifications and would like to register for one of the sessions being offered (times and dates listed below), please call the parish office at 440-237-6760. You need to register at least 5 days ahead of the session. When you have completed this session you will then need to be trained here at St. Albert. North Royalton Produce Market

The North Royalton Market is a cooperative effort of the Greater Cleveland Foodbank and partner agency St. Albert the Great, along with the city of North Royalton and Royal Re-deemer Lutheran Church. The next Market pick up will be on Tuesday, July 14th from 4:00pm-5:30pm at Royalton Business Park, 10143 Roy-alton Road, Suite N & O. The mar-ket is specifically geared towards serv-ing the senior citizen population with-in our community however, anyone who meets the income guidelines determined by the Federal Government Poverty guidelines may receive fresh produce from the market. Volun-teers will staff the farmers market style produce stands, and as-sist shoppers with their choices.

Jesus proposed anther parable to the crowds, saying: “The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in the field. While everyone was asleep his enemy came and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off. When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well. The slaves of the householder came to him and said, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come from?’ He answered, ‘An enemy has done this.’ His slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ He replied, ‘No, if you pull up the weeds you might uproot the wheat along with them. Let them grow together until harvest; then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters, “First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning; but gath-er the wheat into my barn.” Matthew 13:24-30

Four steps to LinC together at home, church meeting, or anywhere!

Make Use of One of These Communion Connections:

We hear in today’s Gospel that it is only in the rich, fertile soil that God’s word bears fruit and yields an abundance. So, this parable may have you reflect on your own life, and consider whether or not you are that rich, fertile soil.

Maybe you feel like the rocky soil, where you once felt your faith alive, but seeing so much division and uncer-tainty in this world today, ask “where is God in all this mess?” Or perhaps you feel among the thorns of life, where you feel exhausted from today’s overwhelming demands, having nothing to give to produce the fruit. We have all been that worrisome thorn-choked soil, or the rocky soil that lacks depth, or that hardened path where we’ve grown cold in our faith.

Remember, God’s seed finds the fertile ground. God scatters his seeds of Word and Truth with extravagance! God gives us his love and grace every day. And by our working in the soil – of prayer, repentance and steadfast faith – God’s seed will hold firm in our hearts, and we will produce abundant fruit that will yield, “a hundred, or sixty or thirtyfold”. The seeds are there for our taking; God never gives up on our soil.
