This position provides consultation, policy recommendations, and technical expertise in the areas of designated authority. My position estimates cost of projects, write contracts and specifications for labor, materials and equipment for construction projects, and secures bids from contractors. I advise the Bureau Director in the daily operational and overall Bureau property management responsibilities to assure the efficient and effective utilization of resources. This position coordinates with other Bureaus within the department as well as other State of Michigan Departments and private public service providers. My position provides for the collection of data, analysis and pro-actively recommends necessary adjustments to meet departmental space and property management goals. I initiate, review and monitor the property management functions and lease documents of the department. This includes analyzing property and legal land management documents and submissions for equity and makes recommendations for changes. It is my responsibility to ensure that each department and building is compliant with MIOSHA, OSHA, Fire Marshall, ADA and State of Michigan Executive Orders and laws. I consult with and supervise architects, engineers, owners and contractors regarding preliminary layouts, construction procedures, and code requirements that apply to building projects. I am also responsible for the security of the department and determine access for all department employees, contractors and interns. I provide technical expertise and consultation necessary to restructure highly complex telecommunications and data communication systems statewide to ensure compliance with relevant statues, rules and regulations. I am technically proficient with Microsoft, Excel, Powerpoint, HRMN, HRIS, DCDS, PDF and AutoCAD. In addition to my knowledge and expertise in Administrative Services, I also have an extensive Human Resources and Accounting background in both the state and private sector. My duties ranged from conducting orientation, prescreening and hiring applicants to maintaining budgets for State Representatives, overseeing all business functions, including key account management and business relation functions. Most importantly I explained and interpreted Civil Service rules, regulations, union contracts, and agency procedures to employees and the public. My goal is to provide excellent customer service in which I was nominated by our Director’s Office at our Formal Recognition for Outstanding Customer Service.
