What are Mentors going to do?

• Mentors will assist in Project research, Building a stable Robot, Programming using sensors, Mission strategy, building attachments and everything else

• Mentors will assign tasks (group and individual) as needed.• Mentors will initially maintain - Project Binder, Team scrap folder, Mission tracking

docs• All programs will be verified, tested by Mentors. • All programs will be stored in Mentor's laptop and in team USB every Tuesday• Mentors will report progress to Mr.Geary/Mr.Beckstrom/Coach Anbu/Mrs.Clark

• Mentors will finalize the Robot Design executive summary and the Team Info Sheet Dec 6

Team member roles

• Should have a project idea and Mission identified and planned out completely by Oct 4

• Basic Robot assembly to be completed by Oct 11

• Every team member will maintain a personal log and submit/maintain every Tuesday

• DOCUMENT EVERY ACTION!

SUB TEAM / GROUPS

• Can be a group of max 3 members (2 drivers, 1 off table support member)

• No loners• Can perform as sub group(s) in Project skit and CV games• The final FLL team will be composed of these sub groups• Official FLL number and Name will be assigned on Oct 18• Sub team/groups can be dismantled or regrouped by

ROBOT BUILDING

• Build a Robot with 2 Big motors, with 1 or 2 Medium motors and at least 2 sensors

• Design a robust attachment for 1 or 2 missions and build it• Contribute to the Robot Design execution summary • Plan your 30 second pitch about the

Robot/attachment/mission strategy• Participate in Team Information sheet meetings

• Download Home EV3 version and plan major steps of a mission of your choice @ home http://www.lego.com/enus/mindstorms/downloads/downloadsoftware

• On Tuesdays, load to official laptop.• Refine the program in class. • After Mentor's approval, download to Brick and test.• Integrate all programs of your group into one

• Test, Re test, Re Re Test on different mats , with different drivers until it is perfected.

• TEST IT AGAIN. • Mentors will not approve a mission until it is multiple-

tests proven. • Mentors will record progress of all tests in Mission

tracker log• Comment all major steps in your program after

PROJECT

• Project problem and expert deadline- Oct 4• Extensive research backing up problem & solution • All members should be a part of the 5 minute skit.• Everybody's contribution should be recorded in the

Project Binder• Experts’ interviews and interactions to be scheduled

during Oct and Nov• Deadline for Project board Nov 24

VOLUNTEERING BENEFITS

• Every team member will be volunteering in our Dec 3 tournament

• Assignments will be made for 2 hr slots. • Maximum slots assigned per member:2• You will also stand in the High 5 lane at the awards
