Judicaël Perroy has become widely known as an extraordinary virtuoso classical gui- tarist and musician with several prizes to his credit. In 1997 he captured the presti- gious first prize of the 15th Guitar Founda- tion of America International Competition and Convention awarding him tour of the United States and Canada with more than sixty concerts and master classes. In between his North American tour that year, he gave several concerts in France where his performances were broadcast live on France-Musique followed by exten- sive recital tours throughout the world. 2017 started with the release of a new CD for Contrastes Records and met with great critical acclaim featuring the music of Heitor Villa-Lobos, Alexander Scri- abin, Toru Takemitsu, Manuel Ponce, and Fernando Sor. Mr Perroy starts his United States tour in recital with the fast-rising American mezzo-soprano and Deutsche Grammophon artist, Angela Brower, as part of the Tucson Classical Guitar Society Series, followed by performances in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Tempe, and Flagstaff, Arizona; Austin, TX; Miami and Tallahas- see, Florida; Chattanooga, Tennessee, and will end the year with his teaching resi- dency at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music finally. In Canada, he’ll perform for the Edmonton and Calgary Guitar Societies and in Europe; he’ll perform for many prominent festivals and return to Poland, Germany’s famed Koblenz Guitar Festival and International Competition, Spain, Hungary, Romania, and Slovenia. Following his GFA victory tour, a CD recording entitled “Aspen Suite” as well as his earlier CD recording on the French label QUANTUM received high praise and won 5 Diapa- sons, awarded by Diapason Magazine and was subsequently re-released on Bayard Musique recording label in 2008. He has recorded two new CDs for the collection of Bayard Musique Meditation including a Disc with flutist Florence Bellon and another with harpist Joanna Kozielska. More recently, he recorded an all Bach CD for Naxos label which includes an impres- sive and unprecedented performance of Bach’s second keyboard partita tran- scription on the classical guitar. In 2016, he recorded a new CD of Ponce’s music release by Naxos, which features the premiere of Sonata no. 2 as well as new CD for Contrastes Records titled “Paris est une solitude peuplée”. In 1996, he was the first prize winner of his graduating class at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris (Paris Conser- vatoire). Composer-performer David Gaudreau, born in Montreal in 1959, has played the guitar since he was 10 years old. He stud-ied with Antonin Bartos, Abel Nagytothy-Toth, Davis Joachim, and Alvaro Pierri, and received university training at the Université de Montréal, McGill University, and the Université du Québec à Montréal. He has released six solo discs, starting with Guitare (1993) and Pensamientos (1996); his next three releases – Portrait (2004), Amoroso (2008) and Évocation (2014) – were critically acclaimed by Classical Guitar magazine, Cahiers de la guitare, and Soundboard. His most recent release is Élégie (2016).

An active musician, David Gaudreau per-forms regularly in major halls throughout Quebec, Ontario, and England. In Febru-ary-March 2016 he completed a six-con-cert tour of France. He also publishes his compositions and arrangements for his recordings and for various guitar ensem-bles, as well as teaching materials such as his Guide d’apprentissage de la guitare classique pour débutants. Almost 70 of his publications are available at www.produc-tionsdoz.com.

Between 1985 and 1994, he made his own guitars, and in 1993 he studied guitar-making with Neil Hébert at the Élan school in Quebec City. David Gaudreau is also a musical educator at the Margue-rite-De Lajemmerais high school in Mon-treal, where he has conducted classical guitar orchestras since 1990 and directs the guitar performance program he created in 1995. In 1997, he established a foundation (www.ensemblemusicalemml.jimdo.com), which he continues to direct, devoted to the promotion of the classical guitar and musical culture in his school, and supporting projects in the community.

David Gaudreau has been conductor of the guitar orchestra of the Festival des orchestres de guitares du Québec since 2002, and the Orchestre Virtuoso of Gui-tare Alla Grande Festival since 2012. He is a regularly invited judge or participant at competitions, examinations, and festivals.

Denis Poliquin completed his studies at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec in 1979 and was unanimously awarded First Prize for guitar. Thanks to a scholarship from the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, he studied with masters such as Dave Holland and Kenny Wheeler. In 1984 and 1986, he won the First Prize, composition

Isabelle Héroux is a full professor in the Music Department of UQAM where she teaches guitar and pedagogy. She has a double academic background, in guitar performance (Concert Diploma, École Normale de musique de Paris, avec Alberto Ponce, and 1 st Prize, Conser-vatoire de musique de Montréal, avec Jean Vallière) and music education (Ph. D. Université Laval, guitar pedagogy) and is active as a concert performer, teacher and researcher. Active as a performer on the national and international scene, Isa-belle Héroux has performed in Europe, Asia, North America and South America and recorded the Savoir and Bravo! Channels and for Radio-Canada. Active on the international scene, Montreal classical guitarist Isabelle Héroux has performed in Europe, America, Africa and Asia. She was awarded scholarships from the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec, the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications, the Fondation McAbbie, and the O.F.Q.J. Her research interests include guitar pedagogy and didactics, the development of teaching materials, cognitive psychology, as well as creative research in interpretation and more specifically on the creative processes at work in interpretation work. In addition to the Groupe de recherche interdisciplinaire sur les arts vivants (GRIAV), Isabelle Héroux is a member of the Laboratoire de recher-che en éducation musicale du département de musique de l’UQAM (LAREM), du labo-ratoire de recherche en formation auditive et en didactique instrumentale (LaRFADI) and the Observatoire interdisciplinaire de création et de recherche en musique (OICRM). He was also the composer-arranger and performer for a show by Kim Yaroschevskaya.

Denis Poliquin has taught at the Conserva-toire’s establishments for more than eight years. Today, he directs the Académie de guitare à Montréal, and is vice-president of the Société de guitare de Montréal. His compositions are available from Les Pro-ductions d’Oz.

Misael Barraza-Diaz is one of the most outstanding mexican guitarists of his generation. He graduated "Summa Cum Laude" from the Master Guitarra Alicante, a special program where he studied with world renowned musicians David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Ignacio Rodes, Paul O'dette, Hopkinson Smith, Fabio Zanon, Roberto Aussell and Shin Ichi Fukuda. As of December 2014, Misael holds both a Masters degree from the Master Guitarra Alicante (Spain) and a second Master's degree from the University of Arizona (U.S.A.) where he is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Musical Arts and continues to study with Thomas Patterson, David Russell, and Sergio and Odair Assad.

Misael has been awarded frst place at numerous international guitar competi-tions, such as the 12th Culiacán Interna-tional Competition (2019 – MEX), 20th Annual Guitar Symposium and Competi-tion (2019 – USA), Wilson Center Guitar Competition (2018 – USA), 1st Interna-tional Guitar Competition of Finland (2018 – FIN), Domaine Forget Guitar Compe-tition (2017 – CAN), Chihuahua Interna-tional Guitar Competition (2015 – MEX), Indiana International Guitar Competition (2013 – USA) and the Montreal Interna-tional Guitar Competition (2013 – CAN). At the international competition in Fin-land, Misael was awarded a special prize that consisted of a CD recording with the European company Alba Records. In addi-tion, at the frst Klagenfurt International Competition in Austria (2018) Mr. Barraza received another special prize consisting of a CD recording contract in Los Ange-les, to be produced and released by Latin Grammy Award winner guitarist and com-

Moreover, Misael recently received yet another recording contract prize at the International Com-petition in Culiacán (2019), thus receiving three separate CD recording contract prizes in a time span of less than a year. During the year 2018, Misael was also awarded a very special 1st place at the XLIII Concurso Nacional de Intérpretes de Guitarra Clásica, advanced category (2018 – MEX), the most important national competition in Mexico.

The artist has been presented as a solo guitarist throughout the USA, Mexico, Canada, and Europe. In Alicante, Spain, he was featured at the "Gala Importantes", one of the most important journalistic events of the region. He was also invited to perform at the frst “Día de la Guitarra Española en Alicante”, a special event in which Manuel Barrueco, Ignacio Rodes, Edmon Colomer and Christian Haimel where also featured. Misael was also recently presented as part of the concert series of the Danish Guitar Society, per-forming at one of its most important and historical venues, the Rundetaarn Tower. He was also the featured solo guitarist for the World Premiere of Passionately, Piazzolla! the musical, a collaboration between Tucson Desert Song Festival, Bal-let Tucson, and the Tucson Guitar Society. Mr. Barraza has been featured three times as a guest artist at the Science Lecture Series that takes place at the University of Arizona every year.

Mr. Barraza has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards for his trajectory in music during his stay at the University of Arizona, including the Creative Achievment Award (2018), Steve Schulman Award (2015, 2016, 2018 & 2019), Northern Trust Distinguished Graduate Student Award (2015), Honors Research Grant (2011), and the Medici Scholars Award (2010, 2011, 2012, 2018). In addition, Misael has been awarded frst place at all fve in-house competitions a the Bolton Guitar studies program: the Beeston Guitar Competition, the Sholin Guitar Competition, the Schaeffer Guitar Competition, and the Wolfe Award Recital. Mr. Barraza has also twice been the recipient of the prestigious David Russell Bach Prize, a special competition held at the University of Arizona in honor of David Russell and dedicated solely to the music of J.S. Bach.

Composed of Nathan Bredeson, Alex Bougie and François Lacelle, The Ottawa Guitar Trio has made it their mission to highlight the accessibility and relatability of classical music to modern audiences. The ensemble explores the classical guitar’s unique dynamic and textural palette to bring to life a repertoire of thrilling movie soundtracks, nostalgic video game scores, timeless classical repertoire, as well as original music for the classical guitar.

Each of them prolific arrangers, the trio thrives in challenging themselves to authentically adapt a wide array of repertoire, be it originally for solo piano, chamber music, electronic com-pilations or orchestral compositions. The members also pride themselves in showcasing pieces by local as well as up-and-coming composers. Moreover, the ensemble looks forward to further contributing to the available repertoire for the guitar trio format in general through commissions and composition.

Making their debut in the summer of 2018, the trio has in their first season alone taken part in numerous local concert series. Laureates of Ottawa Chamberfest’s 2019 Rising Stars series in the senior division, the ensemble has also performed for the Ottawa Guitar Society, Trinity Anglican Church, Saint Luke’s Anglican Church of Canada, as well as Ottawa Chamberfest’s Cham-ber Pints and Emerging Artists series.
