Judge Frank A. Gulotta Lodge No. 2180 Order Sons of Italy in America NEWSLETTER JUNE 2015 HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL. Happy June to all my OSIA brothers and sisters. Hope all is well with you. I want to let you know about some problems, that two of my favorite People have been going through, Sister Caroline Vasaturo and my Grand-daughter Autum; they have been in and out of the hospital for the last month. Both home now, but please keep them in our prayers. We had a very successful fundraiser at our last meeting, which was a Karaoke night. I want to thank all who attended to support this event. All money raised was donated to charity at the convention. I want to also thank all who donated food, wine, water, desserts etc. which made this a great night. On May 28 th , the NY State Convention was held at the Villa Roma. We had five delegates in attendance. Seeing old friends and meeting new ones are always nice. There was a lot of work done .The main thing that was to be addressed was the election of a new slate of officers and national delegates. I want to congratulate Carolyn Reres on her election as President and her slate of officers. Carolyn we will give you our unwavering support. I also want to thank IPP Joseph F. Rondinelli for his hard work the last two years as our State President. Congratulations to all the award winners and the $100.00 raffle winners. Sorry to say we had no winners. There was a motion put on the floor, to bring before National, our approval to investigate the change of the Orders name to “The Sons and Daughters of Italy”. This is only the first step of many. Before closing, I want to ask all for your help and support. We are having a dinner dance to honor Gilbert DeCosimo our Past President, my friend and my mentor, and Maria Diglio Kobylarz our departing Deputy, who has been giving us valuable council and has become a great friend. We now have a problem. We have been on the upcoming events calendar for the Lodges for several months. Even after this was published another lodge took the same date. I spoke to the president of the other lodge both on the phone and at the presidents meeting to no avail; she refused to change the date. Make every effort to support this event. Please make your reservations, bring a friend. Let’s horror these most deserving people. If you cannot attend please think about taking a Journal.
