It had silver and lead mines, mythical by Phoenicians at Protohistoric times.
Were close to the main sea gate of new civilisations in the Iberian Peninsula at Protohistoric time: EMPORION. Silver & energy to melt for transport was an aim.
Evolving from 1000 ha of mysterious, dense and energetic forest cork oak ecosystem, the Estate catches many dormant archaeological sites.

w w w . f i n c a - f i t o r . c o m
Use of cork as stopper of champagne begins near 1670 a Hautevilliers (Reims, France) from Dom Perignon.
At beginning of XVIII century, the cork wave demand from Reims arrives to Fitor, that had important cork oak forest. But cork production for stoppers needs a new systematically extraction and preparation of forest at least for 25 years.Cork production becomes gold for forest owners. Farmer’s transform their houses. Begins an Golden Age.
Two Fitor owners had at XIX houses in Paris.

DIFICULTIES TO SAVE PRIVATE HERITAGE
w w w . f i n c a - f i t o r . c o m
Without an adequate Archaeology legislation applicable to private properties. The figure of Archaeological Park is only for Administrations.
Museum Legislation in Catalonia is not applicable for Rural Development. Centralise Ages in distant Museums and don’t linkwith near rich private spaces. Why all Neolithic must go to Gavà?
Urban Development Law not adequate for reconstruction in rural areas
Unlimited difficulties to legal restauration in guided visits through traditional system of breakfast or lunch in our houses
Inexistent Collaboration Private–Public to save Private HeritagePatronage Laws inadequate to save Private Heritage
