SOLE Hope Project Gives Africans Shoes and Hope

Mrs. Blank's 5th and 6th graders have been working hard to help people in Uganda, Africa in need of shoes. In Africa, jiggers burrow into feet and lay eggs and damage tissue. Students cut down the seams of the jeans our students donated, trace the pattern, cut out the jeans, and pin the pieces together. After assembly, Mrs. Blank will take the shoe kits to Smith Center student Talyn Mackenzie, who will send them to Uganda. As of today, 119 toddler size 9 shoe kits have been made. Hooray!
